(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Xiuyun Detained

Ms. Xu Xiuyun was arrested by officers from the Harbin Road Police Station on the afternoon of December 8, 2023 when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Dongjiagou Police Station officers and clerks from her community ransacked her home, seized her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other items. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

2. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wan Jinlian Held in Police Hospital

Ms. Wan Jinlian, 71, was put into Zhonghuan Hospital, which is under police supervision, by officers from the Donghu Domestic Security Division on December 8, 2023.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Fengqing Detained

Ms. Yu Fengqing, who lives in the Erdao District, was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center by officers from the Baiju Road Police Station on September 29, 2023. Her home was ransacked. They claimed she was seen on security cameras this summer when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

4. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Ms. Ma Fengjun Detained

Ms. Ma Fengjun put up posters in a community on November 15, 2023. A security guard reported her to police. She was arrested and detained for 5 days.

5. [Beijing] Update on Arrested Practitioners

Over 20 practitioners were arrested near the north gate of Tiantan Park on November 18, 2023. Some, who were in their 70s, were released on bail for a year later that day. Ms. Wang Sulan and Ms. Li Xiaoping, both in their 60s, are being held in the Xicheng Detention Center.

6. [Tianmen City, Hubei Province] Practitioners Harassed

Practitioners in Tianmen City, and in urban areas and townships, were harassed by agents from the Tianmen City 610 Office, officers from police stations, and neighborhood committee clerks, from late November to early December, 2023. They made harassing calls to practitioners, went to their homes to harass them, and photographed them against their will. When they did not find the practitioner, they questioned his or her neighbors and took photos. Harassed practitioners include Peng (first name unknown) from Huangtan Town; Li Xiang from Yukou Town, Wang Jiangyue, Huang Bangmei, Wang Cui’er; Liu (first name unknown) from Tianmen City, Zhang Yunhua, and Wu Shejun.

7. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] Mr. Wei Jinlu Released from Prison

Mr. Wei Jinlu from the Shengwuyuan District, has been missing for more than two years. It was recently learned that he was arrested for distributing Falun Gong flyers and was sentenced to two-and-a-half-years in prison. He was released around December 5, 2023 after he was incarcerated in the Menyuan Prison for two-and-a-half years.
