(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held activities to introduce the spiritual practice in Cartagena, a harbor city in eastern Spain, on November 4, 2023. They also raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 24-year-long persecution.

November 4 is a local traditional festival. People visit relatives and friends, have gatherings, and go shopping. Several pedestrian streets were crowded with people coming and going. There happened to be two cruise ships docked at the port that day, and many onboard disembarked to tour the city. The passengers came from Europe, Canada, the United States, Australia, and Asia. Many who saw the Falun Dafa information booth picked up fliers. After learning the details, they signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution.

Ángel is a photography student. When he heard about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting from living practitioners, he was stunned. He felt that he should do something more to help stop this horrible crime. He asked to take photos so that his teachers, classmates, friends, and more people could learn about the persecution in China.
“Wars are often talked about in the news now, but the heinous persecution of Falun Gong [also called Falun Dafa] and the organ harvesting from living practitioners in China are even more serious and horrific, but they are rarely reported,” Ángel said. He hopes that his photos can enable more people to learn the truth, condemn the CCP’s evil deeds, and do their part to help stop the persecution.

Ana María, an educator, was sad to hear about the torture Falun Dafa practitioners are subjected to. She said that she had not known about the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting from the living but that this kind of thing should never happen. She signed the petition and hopes the persecution ends soon.

Elena, a tourist, was stunned to learn that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from living practitioners. After she read a flyer a practitioner gave her, she signed a petition and took several more. She said she would give them to her relatives, friends, and colleagues and draw their attention to the persecution in China.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
