(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Zhijun Taken to Prison
2. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial
3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Qin Side Arrested
4. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Wengui Arrested
5. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Gao Xiaoying Held for Five Months
6. [Beijing] Mr. Qin Wei Held in Custody for Over a Month
7. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Xuefu Arrested
1. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Zhijun Taken to Prison
Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Zhijun, an outstanding teacher in Jizhou District, was sentenced to prison. The verdict was upheld. She was taken to Hebei Province Women’s Prison on October 14, 2023. Prison officials sent a notice to her home at the end of October.
2. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial
Ms. Deng Xiugui, 73, Ms. Du Yingfen, 69, and Ms. Yang Guihua, 66, will be tried by Chuanshan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on November 15, 2023.
3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Qin Side Arrested
Qin Side (gender unknown), who lives on Ningxia Road in Shibei District, was arrested by officers from the Dengzhou Road Police Station on the morning of November 10, 2023. Qin’s home was ransacked.
4. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Wengui Arrested
Mr. Jin Wengui, from Hebei Province, lives at his son’s home in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province. He was reported to the police when he went out to post Falun Gong informational materials. Officers from the Nanjie Police Station, people from the residential community, and staff members from the sub-district administration office went to his son’s home at 9 a.m. on November 6, 2023. They arrested Mr. Jin.
The officers ransacked the place twice and confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. In the police station, the officers videotaped him, took notes when questioning him, and wrote down his family members’ personal information. The officers asked Mr. Jin to sign the paperwork, which he refused. He was released at 4 p.m. that day.
5. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Gao Xiaoying Held for Five Months
Ms. Gao Xiaoying, from Hanzhong City, was held in the Qindu District Detention Center in Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, for five months. Her case was turned over to the procuratorate.
6. [Beijing] Mr. Qin Wei Held in Custody for Over a Month
Mr. Qin Wei, a painter from Haidian District, was arrested at his home by the local police at 11 a.m. on September 7, 2023. His computer was confiscated. He was held in the Haidian District Detention Center. It was reported that he returned home in October.
7. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Xuefu Arrested
Mr. Zhang Xuefu was arrested on July 14, 2023. The police said that Falun Gong materials were found in a residential community in Yanjiao Town, and Mr. Zhang drove in and out of that community. The officers obtained surveillance videos of a private household. Sun Xiaozhong, Party secretary of Cangtou Village in Yanjiao Town, which was Mr. Zhang’s hometown, identified and insisted that the person who appeared in the blurry surveillance footage for a few brief seconds was Mr. Zhang. The authorities were determined to prosecute Mr. Zhang. They held him in custody for nearly 120 days. His case has been turned over to the court.
