(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Youqin Develops High Blood Pressure in Prison
Guards at the Shandong Province Women’s Prison recently told her family that Ms. Zhao Youqin developed high blood pressure. The family has not been allowed to visit her since she was incarcerated in the Jinan Women’s Prison ten months ago, on January 13, 2023.
She was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Before she was imprisoned, she had a full time job, did housework, and was in good health.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Chunling Detained
Ms. Zhou Chunling was arrested by officers from the Hulan District Domestic Security Division in early October 2022, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers threatened her and her brother, and made them sign the release-on-bail documents. During the bail period, they repeatedly had her brother report to the police department, and said they would imprison the bondsman, her brother, if they could not find her.
Ms. Zhou was arrested at her job, a fast food shop in the Daowai District, by officers from the Renli Street Police Station and the Hulan District Domestic Security Division around 4:30 p.m. on November 9, 2023. Officers called her brother after 8:00 a.m. the next day, said she was held in the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center, and ordered him to go there, fetch something, and pay them money.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qian Zujuan Arrested
Ms. Qian Zujuan, 39, lives in Shujia Street, Wuchang District. She was arrested by officers from the Zhongnan Police Station while she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the street in late October 2023. Her whereabouts are unknown.
4. [Yunfu City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Jinfeng Released from Jail
Ms. Li Jinfeng was arrested on November 5, 2020. She was sentenced to three years in prison by the Yun’an District Court in May 2021. Her appeal was denied. She was imprisoned in the Guangzhou Women’s Prison. She was released in early November 2023.
5. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Li Suqin, Mr. Wang Yuming, Mr. Chen Jianyun, and other practitioners in Zhaotun Town were harassed. Mr. Wang refused to be transformed, a term used by persecutors when they make practitioners denounce Falun Gong. He was taken to the brainwashing center located in the Hongyuan Hotel by Zhaotun Town CCP committee member Jiang Xinping and six others on the evening of November 6, 2023. He is still held there.
6. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Kong Jiuhong and Ms. Sun Youlan Detained
Anhu City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office illegally jail practitioners. They held Ms. Kong Jiuhong for some time before they transferred her to the Yunmeng Detention Center in a neighboring county several days ago. They held Ms. Sun Youlan before they moved her to the Liyuan area, where she was imprisoned. Ms. Kong went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.
7. [Xiangtan County, Hunan Province] Practitioners Harassed
Practitioners who were recently released from prison were harassed on November 8, 2023, by guards from the Wangling Prison and the Hunan Women’s Prison, agents and clerks from the Changsha City, Xiangtan City, and community offices. They tried to force each practitioner to say that Falun Gong opposed the CCP and curse Falun Gong. Ms. Luo Xuemei, 81, from Xiangtan County, Mr. Wang Qingsheng, and Ms. Fu Xianhua were among the harassed practitioners. Practitioner Ms. Zhang Xingqi’s daughter was harassed at her shop during her business hours.
8. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Wenjie Under Surveillance
Ms. Zhao Wenjie was sentenced to one year in prison, but is serving the sentence outside of prison. Someone follows her whenever she leaves home.
9. [Feicheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Huimin Arrested
Surveillance cameras recorded Mr. Zhang Huimin, in his 60s, when he distributed Falun Gong flyers in the street. He was arrested on November 3, 2023.
10. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Na Arrested
Ms. Li Na returned from a business trip in southern China after 9:00 p.m. on October 31, 2023, and was arrested in front of her home in the Biguiyuan Community. Four people came and claimed that they were from the Lianmeng Road Police Station. They ransacked her home, searched her computer, and seized two U-drives containing Falun Gong information and several pamphlets. They took her to the police station, and then went to search another condo that she owned. They did not find anything that they were looking for. She was released at 2:00 a.m.
11. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Eight Practitioners Face Trial
The Laizhou City Procuratorate indicted eight practitioners, Lin Hongjie, Xie Qingcai, Teng Qinhua, Pan Zhaohua, Gao Rijun, Feng Guoping, Yang Guofu, and Fang Ruiqin. The Laizhou City Court scheduled the trial for November 28, 2023.
12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Caiyun Appeal Hearing Scheduled
Ms. Wang Caiyun, a resident of the Dongzhou District, appealed the Dongzhou Court's decision. The Fushun City Intermediate Court scheduled her hearing for the morning of November 16, 2023, in the Nangou Detention Center.
13. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Fenglian Transferred to Hantai District Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Fenglian was arrested on October 22, 2023. She was held in the Nanzheng District Detention Center for several days, and then transferred to the Hantai District Detention Center. She might be subjected to criminal detention, as she is still being held there.
Her husband is blind and she is his caregiver. His situation is now desperate since she was arrested.
Ms. Jia Xiufang was arrested on October 8, 2023. She was held for more than ten days in the Nanzheng District Detention Center. Ms. Zhang’s arrest was related to her phone communication with Ms. Jia.
14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Lanying’s Family Harassed
Ms. Yang Lanying’s daughter and mother-in-law, who do not practice Falun Gong, were harassed by officer Hao Xinlun from the Caohe Township Police Station on November 9, 2023. It caused them considerable distress.
