(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Lin Detained
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Haihong Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
3. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Hongmei Arrested and Detained
4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Qinglian Detained
5. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Zhao Fuyun Harassed
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Ruiqin Arrested and Detained
7. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Lai Liduan’s Home Ransacked
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Mr. Yan Shanwei Submitted to the Court
9. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Xiufang Detained in a Brainwashing Center
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Yanrong Arrested and Detained
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Ning Arrested and Detained
1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Lin Detained
Mr. Wang Lin was taken to the Panjin Prison on October 19, 2023. He was sentenced to a four-year prison term on June 25, 2023.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Haihong Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Ms. Zhang Haihong was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 5000 yuan by the Chaoyang District Court about two years ago. She appealed, and it was recently learned that her appeal was rejected and the original verdict was upheld.
3. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Hongmei Arrested and Detained
Ms. Wang Hongmei was arrested on October 24, 2023. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. Ms. Wang was placed under 15-day detention center in a detention house. When her family went to pick up her on November 9, 2023, the day she was to be released, Ms. Wang was taken away by officers from Yinan County. It is unknown where she was taken.
4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Qinglian Detained
Mr. Zhang Qinglian from Qingshui Village of Jiudian Town was harassed by officers from the Zhugou Police Station around October 24, 2023. They took a photo of him.
Mr. Zhang received a call on November 3, 2023, demanding that he go to the police station the next day. When he went there he was arrested for hanging Falun Gong banners around May 13, 2023. He was detained for 15 days.
5. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Zhao Fuyun Harassed
Three officers from the Nandian Police Station and one officer from the Wangpo Police Station went to Zhao Fuyun’s home at noon on November 9, 2023. They ransacked Zhao’s home and confiscated two Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. They demanded that Zhao go to the police station with them, which Zhao sternly refused.
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Ruiqin Arrested and Detained
Ms. Gao Ruiqin was arrested at home by officers from the Chengguan Police Station in Luancheng District at 7 p.m. on October 30, 2023. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated all her Falun Gong books, along with a computer, printer, etc. Ms. Gao was monitored and followed by police for a long time before she was arrested. She is currently detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Shijiazhuang City.
7. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Lai Liduan’s Home Ransacked
Twelve officers from the Hujiamiao Police Station and the Xincheng District Police Department went to Ms. Lai Liduan’s home at 5 p.m. on May 5, 2023. They ransacked the home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, desk calendars, USB drives, etc. Ms. Lia only managed to retrieve the book, Zhuan Falun. The police photographed every room and did not leave until 10 p.m. Ms. Lai was interrogated, and a sample of her blood was collected. She firmly refused to sign any documents.
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Mr. Yan Shanwei Submitted to the Court
The case against Mr. Yan Shanwei from Jinpu New District has been submitted to the Pulandian District Court.
9. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Xiufang Detained in a Brainwashing Center
Ms. Wu Xiufang, 72, was taken to a brainwashing center on October 24, 2023. She lived alone because her son and grandson work in another city.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Yanrong Arrested and Detained
Ms. Ma Yanrong from Fukang Community was arrested at her relative’s home by officers from the Wanshun Police Station. She was placed under a ten-day detention and was taken to the Weizigou Detention House on November 4, 2023.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Ning Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Ning from Dalian Bay was arrested by officers from the Nanguanling Police Station on the morning of October 18, 2023 when she talked to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Jinnan Road Detention House and detained for 15 days.
