(Minghui.org) A Kaijiang County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, resident was harassed twice in October 2023 for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Zhou Rong, who currently stays at her daughter’s home in Chengdu City, the capital of Sichuan, received a call from Liu Wei, who claimed to be with the Dazhou City Police Department, at 4: 40 p.m. on October 20, 2023. Liu demanded to collect some personal information from her. She rejected him and hung up.

When Ms. Zhou’s daughter returned home in the evening after work, she said that she received a call from Tan Tianwen of the Kaijiang County Domestic Security Office during the day. Tan asked her whether Ms. Zhou still practiced Falun Gong and her current situation.

Ms. Zhou’s daughter said she became angry at Tan’s questions and condemned the police for harassing her mother non-stop. Even when Ms. Zhou was traveling, she would be subjected to strict body and luggage searches due to her flagged ID as a Falun Gong practitioner. She said that the harassment of her mother has brought tremendous distress and pressure to the family and she demanded the police stop harassing her mother in the future.

A strange number with the area code in Chengdu called Ms. Zhou on October 28 (Saturday). As she missed it, the number immediately called her daughter’s phone. Ms. Zhou answered the call. It was from an officer named Liu Bo. She demanded Liu to stop harassing her daughter but come to her directly if he had any questions.

At Liu’s request, Ms. Zhou went to the Yihe Police Station to meet with him. It turned out that Liu was the police chief. He told Ms. Zhou that her local police in Kaijiang County had transferred her profile to them. After he forcibly collected Ms. Zhou’s fingerprints, she refused to cooperate with him when he also demanded to see her ID, take her photo, and collect her blood sample.

In the past 24 years, Ms. Zhou has been repeatedly targeted for her faith. She was arrested in June 2005 and held in a brainwashing center. She was forced to live away from home to hide from the police after being released. She was arrested again on December 18, 2006, and given 1.5 years at the Nanmusi Women’s Forced Labor Camp. She was sentenced to 1.5 years following another arrest on July 25, 2015.
