China Fahui | My Colleagues Acknowledge Falun Dafa Is Good

I began practicing Falun Dafa in the summer of 1998. I was 22 years old and just graduated from university. In 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution. I was confused for two years, but in my heart I never gave up Falun Dafa or cultivation. In 2001, when I was studying for the graduate school entrance examination, a major illness awakened me.

My high school classmate Xiaoxia was a graduate student at a certain university, and I stayed in her dormitory while I studied for the graduate school examinations. When the others went to class, I read the Fa. I was afraid, so I hid Zhuan Falun in the cracks of the wall cabinet. I hid the book when I heard the slightest noise.

Master said,

“It’s because our influence is positive—after doing the exercises, the students clean up the place, and when it’s after a snowfall they even remove the snow in the courtyards. Since we conduct ourselves so well everywhere we are, naturally people will provide us with things that make it convenient.” (“Talk in Guangzhou to Assistance Center Heads From Around the Country,” Further Discussions on Falun Dafa)

After I studied the Fa, I cleaned the dormitory and studied for my exams in the afternoon. Every day the hygiene inspection gave our dormitory an “excellent” rating, and the roommates were impressed. They gradually realized that Falun Dafa was wrongfully persecuted, especially Xiaoju, who asked to read Zhuan Falun.

I eventually let go of my fear and began to clarify the truth. I made copies of truth-clarifying materials and distributed them on campus. Dafa gave me wisdom, and I was admitted to the graduate program at another university. Xiaoxia said, “My classmates have a very good impression of you, and your grades are excellent.” All this helped them understand that Falun Dafa is good.

When I was in graduate school, I broke through my fear and clarified the truth to my teachers and classmates. Some took it very seriously and asked whether gods really existed. Some said, “The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) destruction of faith is very harmful to society, and if people don’t believe in God, society’s morality will truly become corrupt.”

When I realized that they threw away the truth-clarifying material after reading them, I said, “If you don’t want to keep it, just give it back and I can give it to someone else.” Some classmates kept the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and read it often. One classmate quit the Party, passed on the Nine Commentaries to others, and convinced a graduate student and a professor to quit. He also told his parents the facts about Falun Gong.

When I first told my roommates about Dafa, they thought that Falun Dafa kills people as the CCP’s propaganda on TV claimed. They were too frightened to quit the Party. My roommate later realized that Falun Dafa teaches people to be good. After they observed my speech and behavior, they believed that I was a good person. They confided in me and asked me to mediate during conflicts.

My supervisor was dismissive of Falun Dafa at first, and was angry when I told her that Dafa was wrongfully persecuted. I silently sent forth righteous thoughts. When she calmed down, I talked to her again. Since I always follow Dafa’s principles, she said with emotion, “Of the all students I’ve had, your grades are not the best, but you are my favorite.” Her husband was a high-ranking government official and knew the CCP was evil. She later quit the Party, and helped her husband quit.

I plucked up my courage and clarified the truth to another teacher, but I didn’t expect her to complain about me to my supervisor. I talked to her again later, and she became very supportive of Dafa. When I graduated with a Master’s degree, many people came to see me off, and some people told me to pay attention to safety. Someone sent me a message, “You’re a good person, and good people are rewarded.”

The Company Chairman Understands the Truth

I graduated in 2005, and went to work in company C. The chairman of the board of directors was a Chinese-Canadian. He often publicly praised me for doing a good job, and said he would promote me to be a department manager. I was happy. Because of my loophole of showing off and my zealotry, the department manager reported me to the chairman for practicing Falun Dafa, and I was fired.

I asked to meet with the chairman and I explained the truth to him. He said, “I’ll hold a board meeting and see if I can keep you as a temporary worker and get paid as usual.” But the directors were afraid of the CCP, so I had no choice but to resign. However, the chairman asked about cultivation. He said, “The CCP’s integration of politics and religion is completely wrong.”

When the chairman of the board told others that he wanted me to be the manager, I didn’t consider the department manager’s feelings, or how humiliated he must have felt. I realized that there’s nothing wrong with practitioners doing a good job, but I shouldn’t have shown off in order to make people feel that I was good. I should’ve considered the manager’s feelings and helped him, instead of showing off. When I later told him about the persecution, he understood, and felt embarrassed for reporting on me.

At the beginning of 2006, Master arranged a special job for me. I worked for two companies, D and E, and I clarified the truth to staff at both companies. One man in company D was an introvert, and always ignored me when I clarified the truth to him. I felt that his main spirit was calling out to me, “You must save me.”

The next time I talked to him, he was silent. He was contacted by the vice president one day. When he returned, he told me, “The vice president may talk to you soon about your practicing Falun Dafa. Be prepared.” He warned me and I was very moved. His heart opened up, and he began to protect Dafa disciples.

The vice president told me, “After a three-month trial, I found that you are not suitable for this job.” Because of the coworker’s reminder, I said, “This isn’t the real reason, is it? It’s because I practice Falun Dafa, right?” I told him about the practice, and that good and evil are rewarded. He said sternly, “I’ve already experienced too much.” I said gently, “This has nothing to do with past experiences. Everyone is given choices. Whether people uphold justice or uphold their personal interest, determines their future. People have been blessed for supporting Dafa, but some harmed Falun Dafa practitioners in order to protect their personal interests. Afterwards their business suffered losses.”

He was taken aback. I knew that he only thought of himself. This vice president was originally the boss of company E, but after the CCP persecuted Falun Dafa, he fired two practitioners. Afterwards company E suffered financial losses.

After coming out of the vice president’s office, I went directly to the CEO of company D. He said he practiced Buddhism and believed in cultivation. During our conversation, he rejected all the calls that came in, saying “I’m discussing an important issue. I’ll call you back later.”

Cultivators Should Cultivate Themselves and Be Compassionate

In 2006, I went to work at the research institute of company F.

Master said,

“So in other words, whichever field you might be in, when you are able to improve your skills, that is a reflection of your having continually risen in realm. And people can see that you are a good person and someone who cultivates his or her heart and mind. From the vantage point of human beings, you are becoming a good person. As a result of studying the Fa and cultivating your inner self, you do better and better, and gods give you the wisdom you deserve and give you inspiration so that you can come to realize a lot of things while you study, create better things, improve your technique, and reach beyond.” (Teachings at the Conference in Los Angeles)

I listened to Master’s teaching, worked diligently, and looked inward whenever issues arose. Every year, I created millions of yuan of benefit for the company, and the boss was very satisfied with my work. I used every opportunity to tell my colleagues about Falun Dafa. One of them quit the Party. But Xiaohong, who had the best relationship with me, reported me, and even reported me to the Provincial State Security Department. A few days later, Xiaohong was diagnosed with advanced lymphoma, and she soon passed away. What happened to Xiaohong made me very sad, and it also made me understand how sacred Falun Dafa is!

The boss talked to me, and after I told him about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa, he said with emotion, “You are amazing! You dare to expose the CCP at such a young age. I will do my best to protect you. But the CCP is very bad. I’m just an entrepreneur, and the CCP will not take me seriously.” The other company leaders said, “Falun Dafa is really amazing. She dares to expose the CCP in a dignified and honest manner.”

The boss later explained that when he was a student, he participated in the student democracy movement in June 1989 on Tiananmen Square, which was brutally suppressed by the CCP. He witnessed many classmates being crushed by tanks; they lay bleeding and dying. After witnessing this, he completely lost faith in the CCP and said there was no hope for China as long as the CCP was in power. “If anyone has the ability to overthrow it, I’m willing to give them all my money!” he exclaimed.

The boss praised me, “What a great ‘revolutionary’ you are!” His words made me realize that I was doing something wrong. Master asked us to tell the truth and save others. How did I become a “revolutionary?” Was this why I’ve repeatedly been persecuted? Cultivators should quietly cultivate themselves, and at the same time save sentient beings with compassion.

Later, due to repeated harassment by the Provincial State Security Department and because he was ordered to hand me over, the boss approved my resignation application in order to protect me. He reminded me not to take my original mobile phone, because I had been monitored.

In 2007, I went to work for company G. My supervisor had a lower education than me, and he was afraid that his position would be affected, so he excluded me. I knew that I should set my interests aside and assist him. I helped him verify information, resolved conflicts at work for him, and I did not seek to be acknowledged. The supervisor’s work became smoother. When I first came there, he didn’t listen when I tried to clarify the truth, but he gradually understood.

A year later, the boss wanted me to replace him as the supervisor, but by this time we had become friends. He told me his grievances, and I listened quietly. Later, I heard that he had become a vice president of another company.

Lian also practiced Falun Dafa. When there was a strike the employees hired gang members. The boss called the police. The two sides had a confrontation, and the company was in chaos. Lian and I clarified the truth in the process of resolving the problem. The two of us talked back and forth between labor and management. We explained to the employees how difficult it was for the boss to operate the business under the suppression of the CCP. The strike quickly ended, and many people understood that the root cause of China’s problems and conflicts was the CCP.

Since then, the environment of clarifying the truth became better. I clarified the truth to one group of colleagues, and afterwards another group came. When someone questioned me, a person who understood the truth interrupted him, “Shut up! Don’t talk nonsense!” One day during lunch break, a colleague asked us teach them the exercises, and everyone learned them.

I was later arrested, and the boss tried his best to rescue me. In the process Lian kept clarifying the truth. When I returned, my colleagues were very happy. I later became pregnant, so I didn’t work for a few years.

Dafa Disciples Should Not Be Separated from Ordinary Society

In 2015, I worked at factory H as an accountant and assisted my boss in management. The female workers liked to gossip. Someone said, “Those who practice Falun Dafa don’t have anything better to do. They don’t work, instead they talk to people...” I felt very uncomfortable when I heard this. I was silent, considering how I could clear up their misunderstandings.

The workers were paid by the piece, so I took care of all the time-consuming jobs for them and improved their work efficiency. Sometimes they yelled at me. I just laughed it off, and continued to help them. They gradually liked me, and unanimously demanded that the boss increase my salary. They asked why I had such a good personality. I said that I practiced Falun Dafa, so I looked within for my own shortcomings whenever there were problems. They were surprised, “You practice Falun Dafa?” Even the people who fiercely criticized Dafa knew that Falun Dafa was good. They quit the Party, and some of them asked me to teach them the exercises.

One day, my boss sat across from me and murmured, “I used to believe what I heard on TV, but now it seems that Falun Dafa is really good!” He and his wife quit the Party. I convinced many of my colleagues to quit. I realized that practitioners should be part of ordinary people’s society, otherwise they will not understand us.

Master said,

“Just live a normal life and cultivate normally, and at the same time do what Dafa disciples should do. That’s how it should be at present. In ordinary society, other than doing what Dafa disciples should do, there isn’t any difference in form [from ordinary people], on the surface it looks the same as ordinary society, only you’re a cultivator. That’s how it should be. What you’re doing today is establishing things for the future, and that’s how this path should go. This is the most upright path and what cultivators of the future will follow, so you can’t behave in an extreme way at all or go to any extremes, as that would create unnecessary obstacles and trouble for yourselves. Any and all extreme ways of thinking are not from what I’ve told you, and they could be a form of attachment and will cause trouble;” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume V)

I realized that we should have jobs in ordinary society. Ordinary society is a big dye vat and a melting pot. Conflicts expose our hidden attachments and everyday people’s notions, so that we can recognize and eliminate them. When we assimilate our behavior to the higher realms of the Fa, people will identify with Dafa from the bottom of their hearts, and thus be saved.

From Reporting on Practitioners to Acknowledging the Truth

In 2019, I worked for company I, a family-owned company. My boss knew me. The first thing he said was, “Do you still practice Falun Dafa?” When I said that Falun Dafa was good, he remained silent. I could see that he didn’t believe it. Most of my colleagues were rude because I practiced Falun Dafa. I thought, “Since I’m here, I can’t leave; I have to save all the beings here.”

The boss assigned the testing to me, which was complicated and tiring. The supervisor bossed me around all day, and loudly announced it whenever I made a mistake. I tried to be as careful as possible. This helped me eliminate many attachments, and the way my colleagues looked at me also changed.

Xiao Liu, a colleague, said, “You look a bit like a cultivator.” This was Master’s affirmation through Xiao Liu’s mouth. He was my former colleague. I was fired from that company because of his report. When we met again, he looked at me strangely, but I knew he had a great connection with Dafa.

He observed my performance in the company and his impression of me gradually changed. One day I asked, “Do you think Falun Dafa is like the CCP says on TV?” He said loudly, “I don’t say Falun Dafa is bad!” He also said, “The Communist Party is a cult.” I gave him software which helps to break the CCP’s Internet blockade. But when using it, he was found out by the CCP, and was brought to the police station. The police asked him where the software came from. He insisted that he saw a website on a street poster and downloaded it himself. He tried to protect me. He also quit the Party. It took him nine years to go from reporting on me to understanding the truth.

Cultivate Myself

In the winter of 2019, on my way home from work, I fell and suffered a comminuted fracture of my right leg. In order to make my workplace cover the hospital expenses, my boss told me to claim that I was injured at the company. I told him, “I practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I can’t lie. I don’t want the company to pay for this injury.” Afterwards, the boss confided in me and said, “You are righteous.” Because my leg quickly healed, my colleagues saw how extraordinary Falun Dafa is.

In the winter of 2020, the factory started to use new equipment, which was wasteful. The factory lost millions of dollars every month. The boss was very anxious. I helped him do research and conduct experiments. I also went on business trips with colleagues to do research in other provinces. The problem was finally solved, and my colleagues’ ridicule of me turned into admiration. But I knew that it was not due to my abilities; Master helped me create an environment for saving people.

In the past, the boss said that Falun Dafa practitioners were crazy, but in the end, he and his family learned the truth and quit the Party. The directors and many employees also quit the Party. I later moved with my husband to a different city. The boss sent me a text message, “If you move back, please come to work for me.”

In the summer of 2022, I went to work at company J in the provincial capital. A few days after I arrived, the manager bowed to me and said, “We are counting on you.” The colleagues in the provincial capital were young, but heavily influenced by CCP culture, atheism and modern concepts. It was very difficult for me to tell them about Dafa. When I first arrived, I had symptoms of heart disease. I had to work overtime every day during the trial period. There were no fellow practitioners around me. I couldn’t go home due to the pandemic lockdown, so I couldn’t see practitioners in my hometown. But looking at these people around me, I knew I must stay here until I saved them. The false appearance of sickness disappeared gradually.

When the pandemic lockdown was lifted last year, most of my colleagues were infected, and I had some symptoms. I thought, “If I appear to be sick, how can I save people? This is discrediting Dafa and interfering with the salvation of sentient beings!” I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate this interference, and my symptoms disappeared. I worked energetically, and my colleagues witnessed the power of Falun Dafa. Several quit the Party after knowing the truth. I worked hard, and my boss’s assistant said, “The boss really likes your work.” In small things, I can gradually discover my attachment. Master said, “he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details.” (“Sage,” Essentials for Further Advancement). I’ve found that when the details are done well, it can move people’s hearts.

In my more than 20 years of cultivation, I’ve made many mistakes, and some of them were big. Master said,

“As your Master, I have never kept account of the wrong things you have done in your cultivation; I remember only the good things you have done and your accomplishments.” (“Pass the Deadly Test,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress III)

“What you do well is everything that you have validated and enlightened to. Put that part in order and remove the unwanted dregs, and the essence that remains is the path to your success.” (Teachings Given on Lantern Festival Day, 2003)

For this year’s China Fahui, I talked about the parts I did well in clarifying the truth in the work environment and wrote it down.

Thank you, compassionate Master, for always giving us opportunities to make up for our mistakes. I hope to cultivate myself, do the three things well, save all the sentient beings that Master arranged for me, and be worthy of Master’s compassion and suffering!
