(Minghui.org) At least seven Falun Gong practitioners in Leiyang City, Hunan Province were harassed around early November 2023 for upholding their faith. Some practitioners were asked whether they still practiced Falun Gong, and others were ordered to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong or have their photos taken. The persecution caused tremendous pressure to the practitioners and their family members.

Ms. Liang Suxian, a retired member of the local Women’s Federation, was harassed at home by local police officer Long Xinguo and two other people.

The son of Mr. Luo Xumeng and Ms. Duan Xiying received a call from the local police, who ordered him to make his parents sign a police-prepared statement to renounce Falun Gong. The son refused to comply.

When Mr. Duan Heping refused to open the door for the police, they called his daughter, who lives in another city, and ordered her to make her father sign the renouncing statement. Mr. Duan overheard the conversation inside the house and condemned the police for harassing his daughter.

Two officers knocked on Mr. Xie Huijun’s door and his wife let them in. They asked if Mr. Xie was at home. When his wife asked their purpose for the visit, they said “Nothing” and then left.

Officer Jiang of the Wulipai Police Station attempted to take Ms. Li Fuying’s photo, and she didn’t let him.

Officers of the Xiaoshui Town Police Station harassed the husband of Ms. Li Ying and asked him whether she still practiced Falun Gong while living with their son to help care for their grandchild.
