(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Mr. Pei Wenhai Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Pei Wenhai, 64, was arrested around October 11, 2022. He was recently sentenced to four years and six months in prison.
2. [Mulan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Mei Guangli Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Mei Guangli was arrested in April 2023 by officers from the local police station. After being held in custody for six months, she was secretly sentenced to three and a half years in prison and taken to Harbin Prison.
3. [Ning’an City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gao Xiuping Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Gao Xiuping from Dongjingcheng Town was arrested by officers from the local police station on September 30, 2022. She was sentenced to one year in prison with two years of probation.
4. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Liu Yun Arrested
More than twelve officers broke into Ms. Liu Yun’s home and arrested her at 11 p.m. on October 20, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, printed materials, and over 30,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Liu’s current whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhu Hongzhang Arrested
Mr. Zhu Hongzhang, in his 50s, was arrested again by local Domestic Security Division officers on October 24, 2023. His home was ransacked.
6. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Zhou Shuhua, in her 70s, was arrested by plainclothes officers and taken to the Zhengyang Police Station on the afternoon of September 13, 2023, when she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to a detention center.
7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Meng Fanju Arrested
Ms. Meng Fanju was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing desk calendars on October 19, 2023. Seven or eight officers from the Yuhua District Police Department and the Zhuodong Police Station ransacked her home on the evening of October 20. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, amulets, and desk calendars. Ms. Meng was held in the police station.
On the morning of October 21, Ms. Meng was placed under 10 days of detention by the police station. She refused to sign any paperwork. When she went to the Shijiazhuang No. 1 People’s Hospital for a physical examination, her blood pressure reading was extremely high. When she was taken to the detention center that afternoon, the officials refused to accept her due to her health. Her family took her home later that day.
8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Jing Detained
Plainclothes officers, including Guo Yong from the Dong’an Police Department, and a community management staff person went to Ms. Zhang Jing’s home on the morning of May 18, 2023. They broke the door handle and forced their way in. They ransacked her home and confiscated her photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. Ms. Zhang was arrested and held in administrative detention for five days.
Seven or eight officers harassed her family. Her father could not bear the pressure and decided to return to his hometown on May 24. He died 21 days later.
9. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Mei Remains Under Surveillance
Ms. Wang Mei who works at Northwest Normal University was arrested in September 2020 and was later sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Wang recently returned home, but the police station in her sub-district is still monitoring her.
10. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Zhongyi Detained
Mr. Liu Zhongyi was placed under 20 days of administrative detention. He returned home on November 22, 2023.
11. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Guilan Arrested
Ms. Yang Guilan from Sartu District was arrested on October 25, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated photos of and articles written by the founder of Falun Gong.
12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Pintong Faces Second Trial
Ms. Liu Pintong appealed the sentencing issued by the Shuncheng District Court. The Fushun Intermediate Court scheduled a hearing at the Fushun Detention Center at 9 a.m. on December 31, 2023.
13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qian Zujuan Arrested
Ms. Qian Zujuan was arrested by officers from the Zhangjiawan Police Station in the Baishazhou Sub-district, Wuchang District, when she was at her mother-in-law’s home. She is currently held in Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.
14. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Held in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Kong Jiuhong was arrested by officers from the Anlu City Domestic Security Division and taken to the Changsongcun Brainwashing Center in Bofan Town on October 24, 2023. Ms. Mao Cuiying and Ms. Xu Guiyun were transferred from the brainwashing center to a detention center.
15. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Yanli Arrested
Ms. Fu Yanli, 57, was arrested by officers from the Daiyue District Domestic Security Division and the Zhoudian Police Station on the afternoon of October 26, 2023. She was taken to the Tai’an City Detention Center.
16. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Cuiling Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Wang Cuiling from Lixia District was photographed by plainclothes officers while talking to people about Falun Gong on October 17, 2023. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. The officers confiscated nearly 1,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Wang is being held in the Zhonggong Detention Center.
17. [Beijing] Ms. Zhu Yuju Arrested
Ms. Zhu Yuju, a former technician at the Ministry of Railways, was arrested in March or April 2023 and held in the Haidian Detention Center.
