(Minghui.org) When I passed by a bus stop one morning, I saw an elderly man with his crossbody bag zipper open. I told him that his bag zipper is open. He thanked me and told me there is nothing important in his bag. Then he closed the zipper.
I asked him if he knew that Falun Dafa is a Buddha Fa for cultivating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and if he knew that the “Tiananmen self-immolation” news was fake news staged by the Jiang Zemin Regime. Since I wasn’t clear about his answer from his uh-huh response, I looked at him and said, “Uncle, we don’t kill people and don’t commit suicide, either. Have you heard about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations that can ensure your safety?”
The elderly man told me he had poor hearing, as he is old. But I didn’t want to leave, as I really wanted to save him. I kept asking him if he is a member of the CCP. He said no. Then I asked him if he joined the Youth League or Youth Pioneers, and told him to quit the CCP to be safe. But, he just smiled and told me he had poor hearing.
At that moment, I was not sure if he was afraid, or confused, or he really couldn’t hear what I said. I calmed down and reminded myself to maintain righteous thoughts. I am doing the best thing trying to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to him. So I said it loudly in his ear again. The old man still smiled at me naively without saying anything. I regretfully left after telling him to remember, “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
After taking just a few steps, I remembered that a cultivator should be considerate of others. What if the elderly man is truly confused? I should talk to him more and see if he needs other help if he is truly confused and can’t understand the truth about Dafa. So I returned to him and asked if he needed help finding the bus route. He quickly told me that he knew the bus route and told me where he was going. As soon as he finished saying this, we both looked at each other blankly.
Then, the elderly man chuckled shyly and I did too. I said with a smile, “Uncle, you can hear me, right?” He answered yes. I told him to quit the CCP to be safe. This time he gladly told me his name and agreed to remember, “Falun Dafa is Good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good.”
Reflecting back on this experience of truth clarification, I found I was not calm and didn’t clear away the evil factors that made this elderly man fearful. That’s why he just smiled foolishly and pretended not to hear. After I remembered to be considerate of others and truly thought about this man, my mind was pure and the true compassion disintegrated the evil factors that were keeping him from understanding the truth and being saved. Therefore, he gladly agreed to quit the CCP.
I am so grateful that Master didn’t let me give up on this elderly man who pretended not to hear me out of fear.
