(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Cong Zizhi Taken to Prison
Ms. Cong Zizhi was arrested by Huang Xuefeng from the Ningcheng County Domestic Security Division and three or four other officers on April 6, 2023. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Cong is being held in the Ningcheng County Detention Center. On April 18, the procuratorate issued a notice that Ms. Cong would be tried in court on May 5.
Ms. Cong was tried by the Ningcheng County Court on June 27, and was sentenced to two years in prison. She was taken to Inner Mongolia Women’s Prison at the end of August.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Yufang Sentenced to Prison
It was reported that a month ago, Ms. Chen Yufang was tried by the Daoli District Court and sentenced to one year in prison. She may now be held in the Harbin City Detention Center.
Ms. Chen was arrested at home on April 19, 2023.
3. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Liu Chunxia’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Ms. Liu Chunxia is from Huyi District. In mid-August 2023, her case was transferred from the Huyi District Procuratorate to the Lianhu District Procuratorate.
4. [Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zeng Arrested
Elderly Mr. Zeng from Longxing Town was arrested on September 8, 2023.
5. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Ying Zhenqiang and Ms. Wang Yuanxiao Arrested
Mr. Ying Zhenqiang and Ms. Wang Yuanxiao were recently arrested. They are being held in the Xiaoyun Brainwashing Center.
6. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Jiaoya Harassed
Five people from the Gaokuang Community, the Gongnong Road Community, and the local police station broke into 76-year-old Ms. Liu Jiaoya’s home on September 12, 2023. The officers presented several printed sheets and ordered Ms. Liu to sign them. She firmly refused.
7. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Sun Guizhi Arrested
Ms. Sun Guizhi from Ningcheng County in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, became displaced after she was briefly arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials on January 26, 2022.
Officers from the Lingyuan City Police Department in Liaoning Province broke into Ms. Sun’s home and dragged her into a police car.
She was subsequently taken to the Ningcheng County Detention Center in Chifeng City by officers from the Ningcheng County Police Department.
8. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaohong Arrested
Ms. Zhang Xiaohong was reported to the police by a student when she talked to people about Falun Gong in early September 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Qingquan Police Station. She returned home on September 8 after being held in custody for about a week.
9. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Lijiang’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Mr. Zhang Lijiang from Bishan District was arrested on the morning of June 28, 2023, in his rented home in Tiangongdian Sub-district, Jiangbei District, by officers from the Cuntan Police Station and the Jiangbei District Domestic Security Division. The officers ransacked the place and confiscated a computer, a cell phone, Falun Gong books and printed materials. Mr. Zhang was placed under criminal detention on June 29 and officially arrested on July 6. His case was turned over to the Jiangbei District Procuratorate. He is being held in the Fusheng Detention Center in the Jiangbei District.
10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Zhang Zhenmin and Mr. Zhang Zhan’an were arrested on the morning of August 31, 2023. Ms. Zhang Zhan’an’s computer was confiscated. They were held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Zhenmin returned home on September 2.
Mr. Liang Shufa was arrested at 1 p.m. on August 31, 2023, by officers from the Zhongtun Police Station in Guta District at his shoe repair store. The police ransacked his home. Mr. Liang failed the physical examination due to his high blood pressure. However, at 10 a.m. on September 1, he was still taken to the Jinzhou City Detention Center.
Ms. Cao Guixiang was arrested by officers from the Tian’an Police Station in the Guta District on August 31, and Ms. Xu Guixian was arrested by officers from the Nanjie Police Station. Both practitioners were held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center. Ms. Cao returned home on September 6. Ms. Xu returned home on September 11.
11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cao Yang’s Case Turned Over to the Procuratorate
Mr. Cao Yang’s case was turned over to the Liaozhong District Procuratorate in Shenyang City by the Gaotaizi Police Station in Xinmin City.
12. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shuhua Officially Arrested
Ms. Zhang Shuhua was officially placed under arrest after she was arrested by the Yushu City Domestic Security Division at the beginning of 2023. She became ill while she was held in the detention center and was released on bail.
13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
When Liu, Xie, and Zhao from the Daoli District talked to people about Falun Gong, they were followed and videotaped by a young man who called the police on the afternoon of September 13, 2023. The three practitioners were arrested by officers from the Shangzhi Street Police Station. Zhao was released by midnight, while Liu and Xie were detained for 15 days.
14. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Yuming Arrested
Ms. Zhao Yuming, 59, was arrested by officers from the Dong District Police Department on September 14, 2023.
15. [Beijing] Ms. Lu Sumin Arrested
Ms. Lu Sumin, in her 70s, from Mentougou District was arrested by officers from the Mentougou District Police Department and the Dongxinfang Police Station on September 4, 2023. She is being held in the Shijingshan District Detention Center.
16. [Qinzhou City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Chen Xuanru Arrested
Ms. Chen Xuanru was arrested on August 24, 2023, by five or six plainclothes officers from the Qinbei District Domestic Security Division near the Qinbei Residential Community where she lives. The officers confiscated more than twelve copies of Minghui Weekly, lectures given by Falun Gong's founder, two copies of Zhuan Falun, and an old seal. Ms. Chen was held in the Lingshan County Detention Center.
