(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Romania organized two informational events on September 23 and 24, 2023, to introduce Falun Dafa and expose how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted the spiritual discipline for the past 24 years.
On September 23, practitioners in Bucharest set up a booth on Unirii Square, and on September 24, practitioners in northern Romania held activities in the mountain town of Vatra Dornei.
Practitioners displayed banners with information about Falun Dafa and told people how the CCP has persecuted Falun Dafa for over two decades. They demonstrated the Dafa exercises and handed out informational leaflets and origami lotus flowers. Passersby of all ages expressed their appreciation of Falun Dafa’s values and showed support for practitioners’ efforts to expose and end the persecution in China.

Many people stopped by the booth in Bucharest and asked practitioners for more information. Despite differences in their ages and backgrounds, their reactions to the persecution were the same: Shock that a country would intentionally attack people who live according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Daniela, 24, has a degree in dental technology. When she learned about the persecution of Falun Dafa, she said that practitioners should continue to raise awareness of the situation so more people will know about it.
“Freedom of expression is very important especially in today’s society, which is corrupt and beset by influences [like the CCP] that try to destroy moral values,” she said. “It would be good to pass on this information through various channels so that it reaches people more easily, because the young people I know are very open to understanding other cultures and what is happening in other parts of the world.”
Two elderly women were stunned to learn that the CCP’s persecution of practitioners included forcibly harvesting their organs. They were shocked that people who believe in the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were killed and their organs were harvested and sold for huge profits. Yet they agreed that this is not surprising for China, and one of them added, “The atrocities committed by the communist regime in China are similar to those committed by the communists in Romania, who killed people from all walks of life.”

High school students Ruxandra, Samar, and Andreea were thrilled when practitioners gave them origami lotus flowers. They said that Falun Dafa was very good, and were disturbed by the persecution in China.
Ruxandra said, “It is important for these values to be spread among young people, who are influenced or tempted by different opinions transmitted through social media platforms.”
Three young theological seminary students who stopped by the Falun Dafa booth already knew of the CCP’s persecution of freedom of belief. They said they knew that the CCP persecutes religions and that Christianity had to be practiced underground in China. When they were told how the CCP targets China’s traditional system of cultivating moral values, they were stunned that Falun Dafa practitioners were being tortured.
The students said they understood the importance of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They said that the world would be a better place if people respected and believed in the healing power of these moral values that Falun Dafa espouses.
Raising Awareness at Resort
Vatra Dornei is a well-known getaway for its spa and ski resorts, so it’s a popular tourist destination. Many people were drawn by the soothing music as practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises. After learning about the practice and how it’s persecuted by the CCP, passersby had the opportunity to sign a petition calling for an end to the CCP’s persecution. Several people signed the petition.

An older couple stopped and talked to a practitioner who told them how the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa. They thanked him for telling them about this important human rights issue and said that it has been hidden from the international media due to the CCP’s global influence.
The gentleman also approved of Falun Dafa’s values, and said, “Good is the first step towards the betterment of each one of us. If a person has a good heart, that person will only do good and never do anything bad.”
Before he left he wished practitioners, “success in spreading goodness.”
