(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 40 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Ping Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
Ms. Chen Ping from the Shapingba District was recently sentenced to five years in prison.
2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Taken to Prison
Six practitioners were taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison from Jinzhou City Detention Center before June 2023. They are Ms. Jin Xiaomei who was sentenced to three years in prison; Ms. Zhang Yingling was sentenced to three years in prison; Ms. Kang Guiyun was sentenced to two and a half years in prison; Ms. Song whose prison term is unknown; Ms. Wang Shujuan was sentenced to five years in prison; and Ms. Zhou Li was sentenced to two years in prison.
Ms. Xie Chengyu who was sentenced to two years and three months in prison, has also been taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison.
3. [Beijing] Ms. Kou Rumin Faces Trial
Ms. Kou Rumin from the West Village of Jinzhan Township, Chaoyang District, will be tried in the Chaoyang District Court at 2 p.m. on October 31, 2023.
4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Huili Taken to Prison
Ms. Yu Huili from Shinan District, 85, was arrested at home on August 16, 2023. She was taken to the Jinan City Prison on September 16, 2023.
5. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Liu Yun Arrested and Detained
Officers came in five police cars to Ms. Liu Yun’s home around 11 p.m. on October 13, 2023. They jumped over the wall and entered the house. They arrested Ms. Liu Yun and confiscated many personal belongings. Ms. Liu is now held in the Fuyang City Women’s Detention Center.
6. [Yangquan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Guilin Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Guilin was arrested on October 19, 2023. She was placed under 15-day detention and sent to the Yangquan City Detention Center.
7. [Hongjiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiang Aimei and Ms. Yang Chunlan Persecuted
Ms. Xiang Aimei, 85, and Ms. Yang Chunlan, around 60, have been harassed multiple times by police officers, people from the procuratorate and the court, since September 2023. Their cases were submitted to the court.
Ms. Yang Chunlan was previously imprisoned. Her pension was deducted and she has not received any money yet.
8. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Feng Aixiang Arrested and Detained
Ms. Feng Aixiang from Zhengjia Village of Gaoliu Town was arrested by officers from the Gaoliu Town Police Station on October 9, 2023. She was detained for five days in the Qingzhou City Detention House and was released on October 14, 2023.
9. [Chongqing] Mr. Chen Mingxi Missing
Mr. Chen Mingxi from Yubei District was summoned to a local police station on October 17, 2023. He has been missing since then.
10. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Wang Haiyun and Ms. Shen Meiyun Arrested
Ms. Wang Haiyun and Ms. Shen Meiyun, both in their 60s or 70s, live alone in Xiaohe, Huaxi District. They were recently arrested and their homes were ransacked.
11. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qiu Yuqin Arrested and Detained
Ms. Qiu Yuqin from Yilan County was arrested at her pregnant daughter’s home in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province in September 2023. Police from Deshan Township of Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province, went there and arrested her because money imprinted with Falun Gong facts was found in a practitioner’s home in Deshan Township. Ms. Qiu was sent to the Harbin City Detention Center.
12. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liang Shufan and Ms. Liang Shuxia Arrested
Ms. Liang Shufan was arrested by officers from the Kangping Police Station in Lishu County and from the Jiefang Street Police Station in Siping City, just before October 1, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, media player and other personal belongings. Ms. Liang was detained for seven days.
Ms. Liang Shuxia was arrested at home just after October 1, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. She was released later that day.
13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Three practitioners, Jiang, Xia, and Wang Lihua, were arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station in Changyi District on the morning of June 4, 2023 when they left Ms. Yin Fuying’s home.
14. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shuling and He Guichun Arrested
Ms. Zhang Shuling and He Guichun (gender unknown) were arrested at home around 7 a.m. on October 19, 2023. Ms. Zhang was sent to the Shijiazhuang City Detention House. It’s unknown where He Guichun is.
15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lu Wei Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Ms. Lu Wei was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 5000 yuan in the lower court. The original verdict was upheld in the Harbin Intermediate Court.
16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yongmei Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Yongmei from Shenhe District was arrested at home by officers from the Nanta Police Station in the Shenhe District on the afternoon of September 19, 2023. She was detained in the No.1 Detention Center of Shenyang City for 35 days.
17. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Jinhua and Ms. Wang Ying Arrested
Ms. Zhou Jinhua and Ms. Wang Ying were arrested by officers from the Stadium Police Station in October 2023. Ms. Zhou was released later that day. Ms. Wang was detained for five days.
18. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Jinxiu Harassed
Ms. Liu Jinxiu was harassed at home by officer Zhu Haojie and others from theTongyuanju Police Station in the Nan’an District on the afternoon of October 17, 2023. They videotaped and photographed Ms. Liu. They also questioned the practitioners and asked how their door-to-door harassment in July 2023 was published on the Minghui website.
19. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chunlong Arrested and Detained
Mr. Han Chunlong was reported to the police by a young man and was arrested by several officers at the gate of the Shenyang Forbidden City at 1 p.m. on October 2, 2023. The police confiscated four cell phones, a router, a wireless earbud, and 200 yuan in cash. Mr. Han was interrogated in the Huangcheng Police Station for half an hour. He was taken to the Shenhe District Detention Center at 1 a.m. on October 3, 2023. He has been detained there since then.
20. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Ms. Feng Mei Harassed
Two officers went to harass Ms. Feng Mei who was selling vegetables in the Bajiazi Market on the morning of October 9, 2023. They didn’t show any IDs and insisted Ms. Feng attend a “study class.” She refused. They stayed there for two hours and did not allow people to come near her stand.
21. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Kang Shumei and Her Son Mr. Zhang Gu Face Trial
Ms. Kang Shumei and her son Mr. Zhang Gu will be tried in the Wanbailin District Court on the afternoon of November 3, 2023.
Ms. Kang Shumei was arrested at home by officers from Taiyuan City and Gujiao City on October 31, 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, printer, cell phone, etc. Her son Mr. Zhang Gu was arrested near his home that same day. His car was confiscated. The mother and son are detained in a detention center and no one is allowed to visit them.
22. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Fenglin Arrested
Mr. Liu Fenglin from Bianqiangzi, Shanhaiguan District, was arrested when he was distributing desk calendars in the Bianqiangzi Market on the morning of October 23, 2023. He was released that afternoon.
