(Minghui.org) Practitioners from Düsseldorf and surrounding areas set up an information booth in the busy pedestrian mall in the city center on October 21, 2023. They demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and told people the benefits of the practice. They also exposed the lies spread by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to justify its 24-year-long persecution of the spiritual discipline.
Passersby were introduced to Falun Dafa at the information booth in Düsseldorf city center.
Düsseldorf is located in western Germany and is renowned for its fashion industry and arts scene. The Old Town and shopping districts on the east bank of the Rhine River attract tourists from around the world. Every Saturday, practitioners set up an information booth in the pedestrian mall filled with shops. They prepare fliers in many languages and distribute them to passersby.
Many tourists stop and read the materials in their native language. One middle-aged man was surprised and told a practitioner, “My English is not too good, I really did not think you had fliers in Greek!” He read the flyer and immediately signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.
People Must Expose the CCP’s Lies
A woman who asked for more information told practitioners that she once worked in a church. She said, “No one should be punished for their faith.” It was the first time she had heard of Falun Dafa. After hearing of the brutal persecution by the CCP, she said she was “astounded” that a country, its military, and government would steal people’s organs.
She also said it was important for practitioners to hold such information events because people, “must expose the CCP’s lies.” She signed the petition to protest against the persecution, and said she hopes people’s signatures, “will help the German government express a clear objection against the CCP’s brutal acts.”
Jürgen, who is a priest, walked up to the table out of curiosity after seeing practitioners demonstrate the exercises. He told practitioners he was interested in meditation, and that his work touches on this subject.
He expressed sympathy for Falun Dafa practitioners after he was told about the persecution in China. While they chatted, he kept asking what he could do, if he could donate money, and so on. Before leaving, he signed the petition calling for an end to the atrocities. He also said he would tell the people he knew the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.
Chinese Citizens Learn the Facts

Many tourists from China passed by the pedestrian mall in Düsseldorf. Two women from China came to the information booth and talked with practitioners. They explained they were in Germany on a business trip. They had heard of Falun Dafa before but did not know much about it. One of them read the information displayed and used her mobile phone to take photos of the posters which introduced the five sets of exercises. When a practitioner explained that the “self immolation incident” was a lie spread by the CCP, both women nodded their heads in agreement.
Before leaving, they took fliers in Chinese and said they would go to the website in Germany to learn more about Falun Gong and the persecution.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party, perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999 he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems, and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
