My Unemployed Son Receives a Blessing

Reaction to Loosing Job

My son worked in the construction industry for more than ten years. He is smart.

He has been reading the Fa and doing the Falun Dafa exercises with me since his childhood, and he knows that Falun Dafa, and following the principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, is good.

After he started working, he gradually stopped cultivating, due to his work schedule. He was the construction manager for a very large site, and his bosses greatly admired his ability and work ethic.

Late last year, the construction company management team was informed that the site would be closed down the following year.

The buildings had not been selling well, and the investor had run out of money. The project was disbanded and left unfinished, which meant that the construction company would have to lay off employees.

My son, however, firmly believed that he should be able to keep his job. But the company did not ask him to come back to work.

A management office staff member called him in late February, “The economic situation is not good now. If you can find a job somewhere else, go ahead and take it. We will bring you back as soon as we receive instructions to start construction again.” My son lost his job.

He had a difficult time accepting this reality. He asked his boss why he was let go, and was told that it was the project manager’s decision.

My son was responsible for most of the work at this construction site, including examining the construction quality, the overall progress of the construction work, and coordinating the progress of various aspects of the construction. He also had to deal with emergencies.

He frequently had to work overtime to ensure that everything was on schedule. He was proactive and never complained about the stress.

The project manager expressed his appreciation many times, because the project was progressing well. One of the main bosses and the company boss also acknowledged the project manager for the high quality work.

However, a person who was not as capable as my son paid a lot of money for the project manager’s recommendation, thus he was hired to take over the position.

My son felt mistreated and became irritable. He complained about the company owner for ignoring his capability and hard work.

He even hated the project manager for taking the bribe, and accused the person who took his position as being a villain.

Looking Inside for Inadequacies

I also felt disturbed seeing my son upset. However, I immediately realized that I should calm down because I am a practitioner.

I understood that nothing happens without a reason, and took the opportunity to look within for my shortcomings. I found that I had the attachment of zealotry, and was attached to personal interests.

My granddaughter is going to kindergarten this year, and I was happy because I could relax. However, the tuition for half a year of kindergarten was more than 20,000 yuan, which I felt was too expensive.

I also found that I was attached to fame and personal interest, and suffered from sentimental attachment to my son. I felt embarrassed that my son lost his job, because my relatives and friends had all admired him for his career achievements.

Seeing my son upset all day long and irritable, I comforted him, “It’s okay. With all the capabilities you have, you should be able to find another job. Maybe it is predestined that your relationship with your boss has ended, and a better job may be waiting for you.”

I continued, “Calm down and be patient. We have Master to take care of us. We will not run out of food.”

I read the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts diligently at home.

One day I read:

“We have also seen that when a person incarnates in this world, the design of his entire life is present in another, specific dimension, and everything that is supposed to take place in his life is already laid out there. And naturally it was higher beings who planned it all out.” (The Seventh Talk, Zhuan Falun)

I felt suddenly enlightened, “Yes, why do I worry for him?”

My Son Gets Blessings

My son was very busy when he was working. After he lost his job he had all the time in the world.

I talked to him and analyzed his situation, trying to help him understand. I said, “Everything has changed; the climate has changed, society has changed, and people have changed.”

I continued, “The weather can have four seasons within a week now. People don’t trust each other any longer, and everyone feels that their lives are in crisis.”

“The factories are closing; companies are laying off employees; and the real estate bubbles are bursting. Many young people have lost their jobs.”

“It is the evil party’s tyranny that has caused the collapse of the economy, as well as the difficulty people face making a living now. People’s morale has deteriorated rapidly under the evil Party’s influence. The evil party persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime harvests organs from living practitioners for profit.”

I explained, “Their crimes have angered heaven and earth, and now the country is experiencing so many difficulties.”

“Many college graduates can’t find a job now. Even Ph.D. graduates have returned home from abroad and have no choice but to stay at home and live off their parent’s savings.”

“You do not have a very high degree and it is no surprise that you lost your job. As for what the project manager and your colleague did to you, they are older than you and may have parents to take care of and children’s tuition to pay.”

I also told him, “If they lose their job, how would they live? They probably had no other choice. We should not resent them. No one’s life is easy now.”

My son said, “You are too selfless. My child is going to kindergarten and the tuition is 20,000 yuan for just half a year.”

I said, “You will not lose it if it is yours; don’t try hard to get it if it is not yours. Your relationship with them may have ended, but you may meet new colleagues and friends soon.”

During his unemployment, my son read Master’s new scripture “How Humankind Came to Be” and other materials telling people about Falun Dafa. He gained a deeper understanding of Falun Dafa, and also let go of the burden on his mind when I was persecuted.

The construction company that laid him off in early March paid him 40,000 yuan in compensation while other people only received 10,000 yuan.

Also, at the end of March, three big companies called him and offered him jobs. One of them offered him the position of a project manager which was one level higher than his original position.

As we all know, it is very difficult to find a job now. When I let go of my attachment and my son came to a deeper understanding about Falun Gong and the persecution, things changed dramatically.

I sincerely feel that when you truly let go of your attachments, cultivate yourself following the Fa and follow Master’s arrangement, you will find that “…there is light at the end of the tunnel.” (The Ninth Talk, Zhuan Falun)
