Four Liaoning Residents to Stand Trial for Practicing Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) Four residents of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, are scheduled to stand trial on October 31, 2023, for practicing Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

All Falun Gong practitioners, the four were arrested over the course of four days in March 2023, after being monitored by the Jinzhou City Police Department, the Linghe District Police Station, and the Zijing Police Station for months. The police waited outside the practitioners’ homes, shadowed them on foot or in cars, took pictures of them, and even installed tracking devices on their electric bikes and button-sized listening devices on their doors.

Ms. Yu Jing, 55, was arrested when she left her home at noon on March 9. Two hours later her home was raided. Mr. Wang Jingzhong was arrested at his vegetable greenhouse that night.

Ms. Wang Yinghua (no relation to Mr. Wang) was arrested on March 10, while riding her electric bike to run some errands. The arresting officers from the Jinzhou City Police Department and the Linghe District Police Station pushed her during the arrest. They deceived her into going with them to a place that she had not visited before, possibly to fabricate evidence that she distributed Falun Gong informational materials there. They promised to release her if she signed some paperwork. It’s unclear whether she complied with their demand.

The police confiscated Ms. Wang’s bike, household registration (which she happened to be carrying with her), and her office key. They next went to search her office.

Ms. Wang was later taken to the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center, where she began to feel unwell and dizzy.

Ms. Dai Xiuhua, 59, was arrested by about six or seven officers from the Zijing Police Station on March 12. The police took her to another practitioner Ms. Zhang Liyan’s home. They confiscated Ms. Zhang’s laptop, Falun Gong books, and a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder. It’s unclear why the police would take Ms. Dai to raid Ms. Zhang’s home. They left without arresting Ms. Zhang.

Ms. Yu, Mr. Wang, and Ms. Dai were all taken to the Jinzhou City Detention Center. Ms. Wang was later transferred there.

Prosecutor Li Feng ([phone] and [phone]) of the Linghai City Procuratorate indicted the four practitioners, and judge Huang Yanchun ([phone] and [phone]) of the Linghai City Court scheduled a joint hearing of the cases for 9:30 a.m. on October 31, 2023. Linghai City is under the administration of Jinzhou City.

It was learned that three of the practitioners hired lawyers and another one had a non-lawyer family defender. It’s unclear which practitioner did not have a lawyer.

Illness-Free after Practicing Falun Gong

Ms. Yu started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. She was only 28 at the time but suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, gastric ulcer, nephritis, neuropathic headache, acne, bulging lumbar disc, and other ailments. They all, however, disappeared shortly after she took up Falun Gong. She also learned to be a good person by following Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Ms. Dai also became illness free by practicing Falun Gong. She was no longer tormented by her decades-long heart disease, cerebral neuralgia, and gynecological diseases. Her tense relationship with her husband also improved and the couple enjoyed a happy marriage.
