(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Ling Faces Trial
Ms. Deng Ling has been held in a detention center for over a year. She will be tried in court on September 22, 2023.
2. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jiang Xiuying Faces Trial
Ms. Jiang Xiuying from Ning’an City, 76, was arrested on July 15, 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong and was later released on bail pending trial. Her case was submitted to the Hailin City Procuratorate on May 30, 2023 and was later submitted to the Hailin City Court. Ms. Jiang will be tried in court on September 27, 2023.
3. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhou Huajian Faces a Second Trial
Mr. Zhou Huajian, 73, has been incarcerated in the No. 1 Detention Center of Maoming City for three years and five months. He was tried in the Maonan District Court on July 10, 2023. His family hired a lawyer for him. The lawyer submitted the application for the public hearing of the second instance to the Maoming Intermediate Court on September 15, 2023.
4. [Beijing] Ms. Deng Guiru Arrested and Detained
Ms. Deng Guiru from Fengtai District was arrested on February 7, 2023 and has been incarcerated in the Fengtai District Detention Center. She was sentenced to six months in prison, but the term was later extended one additional month. She was released on September 7, 2023.
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Jiang Weimin Arrested
Mr. Jiang Weimin from Jiangbei District was arrested recently.
6. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Weizhen and Ms. Zhao Changxiu Arrested
Ms. Zhang Weizhen, 80, and Ms. Zhao Changxiu, 85, were intercepted by officers from the Jiyuqiao Police Station on their way back home on September 8, 2023. They were taken to the police station. The police searched them and found truth-clarifying flyers and money imprinted with Falun Gong facts. Their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners were released later that day.
7. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhang Fengqin Arrested and Harassed
Ms. Zhang Fengqin and her daughter were arrested at home by officers including Sun Gang, head of the Tongliao City Domestic Security Division, and deputy Li Qiang, on February 23, 2023. They were taken to the Tongliao City Detention Center. Ms. Zhang was later released on bail pending trial on March 28, 2023 due to her health.
Ms. Zhang was harassed at home by police on September 4, 6 and 8, 2023. She refused to sign any papers. She was threatened and told that she would be taken into custody again if she didn’t sign.
8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yujin Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yujin from Shenhe District was arrested at home around 9 a.m., on September 20, 2023. Her home was ransacked.
9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xiu Guang and Ms. Zhu Zhaoyi Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Xiu Guang, 70, and Ms. Zhu Zhaoyi, in her 50s, were arrested in 2022 and are held in the No. 4 Detention Center of Changchun City. Ms. Xiu was sentenced to two years in prison. Ms. Zhu was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.
10. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Lin Jie Arrested
Ms. Lin Jie from the Songshan District was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested on September 19, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, money imprinted with Falun Gong facts, CDs, and other items. She was released later that day.
11. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Guiyun Arrested
Ms. Xu Guiyun was arrested at home by officers from the Fucheng Police Station and the Anlu City Police Department on September 19, 2023. She was taken to the Beifan Town Brainwashing Center.
12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Na Junpeng Faces Trial
Mr. Na Junpeng will be tried in the Daowai District Court at 9 a.m. on September 22, 2023.
13. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Mingming Arrested
Ms. Liu Mingming from Wendeng District was arrested again by police in the Wendeng District on September 20, 2023.
14. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Juan Harassed
After repeatedly receiving harassing phone calls from Huang Chao of the Mawangdui Police Station, Ms. Wang Juan’s husband took Ms. Wang to meet Huang Chao near the police station on September 16, 2023. Huang Chao took a photo of Ms. Wang and said they needed to meet every three months. Huang told the couple that they should change their household registration to another location.
15. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Mo Shanyi Arrested
Ms. Mo Shanyi’s home was ransacked on August 7, 2023 because she sent some Falun Gong related information via WeChat. She was then arrested by officers from the Sanfeng Police Station in Pengxi County on August 9, 2023 and was taken to the Pengxi County Detention Center. Ms. Mo’s family submitted a complaint to the procuratorate. The formal arrest application was not granted. Ms. Mo was released on September 14, 2023.
16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Arrested
Mr. Zhang who lives near Nanta Shoe City, and is about 80 years old, was arrested on the morning of September 20, 2023.
17. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wen Guoxiang Arrested
Ms. Wen Guoxiang was photographed by plainclothes officers when she talked to people about Falun Gong in the Zhangxing Town Market. She was arrested by officers from the Xiadian Town Police Station on September 14, 2023. She was later released due to her health.
18. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hei Yan Harassed
Ms. Hei Yan was harassed at home by officers including Wang Jingguo from the Xinglong Road Police Station at 11:30 a.m. on September 19, 2023.
19. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liang Zhihong and His Wife Ms. Wu Limei Arrested
Mr. Liang Zhihong and his wife Ms. Wu Limei from Shenbei New District were arrested outside by officers from the Daoyi Police Station on the morning of September 20, 2023. Their home was ransacked. The police confiscated a photo of Falun Gong's founder, some copies of teachings given by the founder, the couple's printer, computer, and other items.
20. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Liu Shufen and Ms. Feng Guirong were arrested by officers from the Minzhu Street Police Station when they talked to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of September 18, 2023. Ms. Feng was released around 9 p.m. Ms. Liu was detained.
Ms. Lu, 76, was arrested by officers from the Chang’an Police Station on August 17, 2023 for posting stickers with information about Falun Gong. Her current situation is unknown.
