(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Yingjun Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xie Chengyu Sentenced to Two Years and Three Months in Prison
3. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Zhang Jian and Wu Zonglun Arrested and Detained
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liang Zhihong and His Wife Ms. Wu Limei Arrested and Detained
5. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Bai Xiaohua Arrested
6. [Qian’an City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Jinheng and Mr. Guo Zhengping Harassed
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qian Youyun Arrested and Detained
8. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
9. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Ling Faces Trial
1. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Yingjun Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Mr. Qi Yingjun from the Laiwu District was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Laiwu District Court on September 25, 2023. Mr. Qi has filed an appeal.
2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xie Chengyu Sentenced to Two Years and Three Months in Prison
Ms. Xie Chengyu was arrested along with three other practitioners – Jiang Yongjin, Ms. Song Wenli and Ms. Li Yanling, on September 21, 2022. It has been learned that Ms. Xie was sentenced to two years and three months in prison. It is unknown where she is detained.
3. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Zhang Jian and Wu Zonglun Arrested and Detained
Zhang Jian from the Xian’an District was arrested by four plainclothes officers at 9 a.m. on September 22, 2023 when talking to people about Falun Gong near Nan Mountain. It is unknown where Zhang Jian is detained.
Wu Zonglun from the Xian’an District was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in a train station and was arrested on August 29, 2023. Wu Zonglun was first detained for 15 days in the Xian’an District Detention House and was later transferred to the Xian’an District Detention Center.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liang Zhihong and His Wife Ms. Wu Limei Arrested and Detained
Mr. Liang Zhihong was arrested at his workplace on the morning of September 20, 2023. His wife Ms. Wu Limei was also arrested that day. Mr. Liang is held in the Shenbei New District Detention Center. Ms. Wu is held in the No. 1 Detention Center of Shenyang City.
5. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Bai Xiaohua Arrested
Bai Xiaohua went out to buy groceries and was arrested near her home on September 27, 2023.
6. [Qian’an City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Jinheng and Mr. Guo Zhengping Harassed
Mr. Liu Jinheng was harassed at home by two police officers on September 21, 2023. He was photographed and pressured to sign a guarantee statement.
The police went to Mr. Guo Zhengping’s home on September 22, 2023. They knocked on the door but no one answered.
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qian Youyun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Qian Youyun from Jiangxia District was detained for 15 days and was released on September 29, 2023.
8. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
More than 10 practitioners were arrested in Zhaodong City in early September 2023 including Zhang Zhimin, Wei Chen, Gu Yarong, Sun Qin, He Chunhua, Wang Lijuan, Zhao Li, Zheng Yanli, Wang Zhujun, Guan Fengling and Li Jinhua.
Gu Yarong and He Chunhua were released that day. Zhang Zhimin was taken to Suihua City. She was found to have advanced lung cancer and was later released. Wei Chen, Wang Lijuan, Zhao Li, Wang Zhujun, Guan Fengling and Li Jinhua were detained for 15 days. Qiao Shuzhen was detained for one month in Suihua City. Yang Shujun was also detained in Suihua City.
9. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Ling Faces Trial
Ms. Deng Ling was arrested around September 1, 2022 and held at the Yibin City Detention Center. Due to the pandemic restrictions, her lawyer wasn’t allowed to visit her. The Cuiping District Court scheduled a hearing of her case on September 22, 2023, but postponed it to September 28. The details of the hearing were not available at the time of this report.
