(Minghui.org) I had hepatitis B when my daughter was one year old. I was so weak that I was barely able to get up in the morning or make a fist. The doctor said that the disease would eventually develop into liver cancer. As I was already suffering from rhinitis, gastroenteritis, arthritis, and severe headaches of more than 20 years, I was in despair.

Fortunately I took up Falun Dafa in January 1997. I strove to be a better person by following Dafa’s principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Soon I was full of energy and my illnesses disappeared. I made up my mind to cultivate in Dafa all the way.

However, the Chinese Communist regime launched the brutal persecution against Dafa in July 1999. Because of my clarifying the facts about Dafa, I was given four forced labor terms and detained in a brainwashing center three times. Dafa and Master gave me courage to pull through the repeated detentions.

Tortured with Long-Term Standing and Squatting

I was detained in Hechuan District Detention Center in Chongqing in January 2006 after I was arrested. I held a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and was force-fed. I suspect the guards laced my food with toxic drugs, as I vomited badly after eating and had trouble breathing.

I was sent to the Maojiashan Women’s Labor Camp in Chongqing one month later, around the Chinese New Year’s Day.

In the labor camp, since I refused to cooperate during the brainwashing sessions and declared that I would not renounce my faith, I was transferred to the strict control team. The main torture method deployed there was long hours of squatting or standing.

I was forced to stand or squat every day from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 a.m. the next day. In the summer, I was made to stay outside under the scorching sun during the daytime, with temperatures sometimes reaching above 1040F degrees. At night I was forced to stand in the hallway, on a spot with no wind but many mosquitoes. In the winter, I had to stand or squat in the hallway, where the wind went through, in a thin layer of clothes. The long-term standing and squatting caused pain and deformation of my big toe bone and palm bone.

Because I remained steadfast in my faith, guards Chen Yanyan and Gao Hong reduced my sleep time to less than an hour, between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sometimes, I had to get up before I even fell asleep or my bed warmed up. Later, they deprived me of sleep completely and ordered inmate Long Mei to monitor me. She beat me up as soon as I closed my eyes.

With the excuse that I hadn’t renounced Falun Dafa by the end of my term in 2009, the officers from the local 610 Office took me directly from the labor camp to a brainwashing center. Five days later, I became very weak and bled profusely. I was on the verge of death. My family happened to come to the brainwashing center that day to demand my release. So I was released.

Inhumane Torture

I was again given a forced labor term for my faith in Dafa and sent to Maojiashan Women’s Labor Camp in May 2011.

In order to force me to renounce Dafa, I was taken to the fourth floor, where no surveillance cameras were installed. I was beaten every morning and sent back down to the second floor at 2 a.m. to sleep.

One day the guards brought seven inmates and they took me to the fourth floor. As soon as we entered a small cell, the inmates swarmed on me, hitting and kicking me on the head and back. Inmate Huang Yongli, a tall and strong-build drug addict, stomped hard on my feet. My feet became purple-black afterward and I had to walk with a limp. Parts of my feet remained numb for a long time.

After the beating, they stripped of all of my clothes and wrote words insulting Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, on my body with colored markers. They knew that practitioners highly respected their Master and this kind of insult would bring a lot of mental pain to practitioners. I sat on the ground, covering my body to stop them. They continued to write Master’s name on the floor around me. My heart was bleeding and I cried sadly. Nevertheless, I refused to give in.

On another cold day, guard Jia Zheng ordered inmates Wang Chun and Huang Yongli to carry a large bucket of water to the fourth floor. Jia pressed my head and shoulders into the water. I choked and struggled. She released me until I nearly suffocated. She repeated this torture many times and my clothes were all wet. Later, they took off my wet clothes and Jia took a picture of my naked body with her cellphone, threatening to send the picture to Minghui.

The next day was another chilly day. Inmates Wang Chun, Huang Yongli, He Mengling, Tang Hongxia, and a few others stripped me naked again. They tied my arms to a long horizontal bamboo pole, mimicking Jesus being nailed to a cross. They poured cold water on me and pushed my head into a big bucket of cold water. I told myself that I would never betray Master and Dafa. I stopped resisting and tried not to feel anything. Instead, I recited one of Master’s poems to keep myself calm. When they saw me no longer struggling, they were afraid of drowning me and pulled my head out of the bucket. They thought the torture did not work and stopped.

During my time in the labor camp, I was repeatedly put into a dark and damp solitary cell, about two meters long and one and a half meters wide. I was forced to squat every day. The inmates often also beat me violently. My eyes once was so swollen after the beating that I could not see. My forehead and eyes were often bruised and swollen, and my back hurt so badly that I could not stand straight.

They also often forced me to bend over with two hands on the back of my head. They then lined up, running toward me one after another and hitting my back with their elbows. I could hear the loud dong sound. They kept doing it until they were exhausted. They also used their elbows to hit the center of my chest. The torture caused severe pain in my chest, and I had trouble breathing.

Once, inmates Tang Hongxia and He Mengling tied my two hands together, and then taped my mouth and nose to suffocate me.

For some time, I was ordered to clean all the cells every morning by myself, before being forced to stand or squat. I was only given a tiny portion of food each meal but they purposefully dumped their large portion of left-overs into the toilet in front of me. I was also not allowed to buy anything to eat on my own.

In the cold winter, guard Jia Zheng did not to allow me to wear winter clothes or shoes. I wore single-layer clothes and thin shoes while squatting and standing in the cold nights with an empty stomach. One time, a practitioner gave me a pair of winter pants but Huang Yongli saw it. She snatched the pants and threw them away.

At one point, I was not allowed to wash myself or drink any water for 80 days. They cut down the number of times that I could use the toilet. Lumps grew on my eyelids. They became big and covered my eyes, rendering me unable to see anything. However, the guards still wouldn’t allow me to wash myself. They forced me to write thought reports; otherwise they would not allow me to sleep.

The long-term torture made me emaciated. My weight dropped from 120 pounds to about 70 pounds, and I was only skin and bones.

Despite the torture and the danger of losing my life at any time, I didn’t lower my head to the evil. Dafa and Master gave me courage and perseverance to uphold my faith.
