(Minghui.org) The number of people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organizations reached 400 million as of 7 a.m. on August 3 (7 p.m. Beijing time). The Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP (Tui Tang) celebrated at noon by holding a rally in front of the Queens Public Library in Flushing.

Residents from all walks of life celebrate 400 million people quitting the CCP during a rally in front of the Flushing library on August 3, 2022.

Many people joined the rally, including volunteers from the Global Tui Dang Center, human rights advocates, and community leaders. With speeches, banners, and a waist drum performance, they celebrated this major milestone.

Yi Rong, president of the Global Tui Dang Center, said she was glad to see that 400 million people have renounced their ties to the CCP regime. This includes the Party’s youth organizations, the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. She said this movement is important for people, China, and the world. “We hope more Chinese will sever their ties to the CCP and go back to traditional values.”

Local resident Han Shuai, who renounced his membership in the Youth League and Young Pioneers during the event, said he was very excited. “The CCP is a terrorist organization,” he explained, “I am happy to get out of the Youth League and the Young Pioneers that I was forced to join as a child.”

Pivotal Event for Mankind

Huang Wanqing, editor-in-chief of the Epoch Times website, said that the quitting the CCP movement started in November 2004 when the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published. In the past 18 years, the Epoch Times and NTD Television have worked closely to promote the book, host forums, and report on the movement’s progress.

Inside China, tens of millions of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) practitioners have been discriminated against and targeted since the CCP began to suppress the spiritual group in 1999. Over the years, many practitioners have risked their lives to tell their families and friends, coworkers, community residents, and the general public about the vicious nature of the CCP. “As 400 million people renounce their memberships in the CCP regime, the Red Terror is undermined from within,” Huang Wanqing said, “We are happy to see that we are moving towards a communism-free society.”

The CCP’s brutality and lies have destroyed traditional Chinese culture and ruined society’s moral standards. “Quitting the CCP helps to bring us back to humanity and it is thus an important event in human history,” Huang added.

Largest Grassroots Movement

“Quitting the CCP is the largest grassroots movement in the modern society,” said community leader Martha as she presented an award to the Global Tui Dang Center during the celebration.

She felt that such peaceful activities not only help Chinese people to awaken, but also advances the efforts to end the harm done to the innocent and repression of religious freedom. That is why she sincerely congratulated this significant achievement.

Quitting the CCP is an Opportunity for Chinese to Move Forward

Hong Kong Businessman Yuen Gong-yi

Hong Kong businessman Yuen Gong-yi said that quitting the CCP is like repentance in Western culture. “Since people have joined the vicious CCP regime, they need to renounce the organization to avoid being held accountable for the serious sins committed by it. This is a good opportunity for people to make corrections and move forward.”

Lawyer Ye Ning spoke at the rally.

Lawyer Ye Ning, who is based in Flushing, said he believed quitting the CCP is like being given a second chance. “After the Soviet Communist Party dissolved in 1991, people celebrated at Red Square. Many people burned their communist party IDs. The Nuremberg Trials were held after the Nazis were defeated, but the quitting the CCP movement is happening while the regime is still in power, which shows the movement is unique.”

As time goes on, Ye said he believes people will see the CCP being phased out of history. He also wished Falun Dafa practitioners well and hopes the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance can benefit more people.

Quitting the CCP Timeline

After publishing the Nine Commentaries in November 2004, the Epoch Times set up a website to help Chinese quit the CCP’s organizations. The first quitting the Party announcement from a CCP member living outside of China was received on December 3, 2004.

The Epoch Times published a solemn declaration highlighting sins committed by the CCP against people and the divine on January 12, 2005: “The heavenly network is extensive and clearly differentiates good and evil. For those people who have been deceived by the most evil cult in history and branded with the mark of the beast, please grab this precious opportunity.”

Mr. Li Hongzhi, Falun Dafa’s founder, released a statement titled, “Turning the Wheel Again” through the Epoch Times in February 2005. Afterwards, the number of people quitting the CCP organizations increased rapidly, from hundreds of people a day to nearly 10,000 people a day in a short time. The Global Tui Dang Center was also established in June 2005.

It took six years and eight months for the first 100 million people to quit the CCP organizations. The second 100 million people took three years and eight months, the third 100 million took two years and eleven months, while the fourth 100 million took four years and four months.
