(Minghui.org) Before I practiced Falun Dafa I loved to eat silkworm pupae, boiled or fried, and found them very tasty. One night in a dream after I started practicing, I was terrified to see hundreds of green silkworms crawling on the ceiling over my head. My heart was still pounding after I woke up. I understood that Master was telling me it was time to eliminate my attachment to eating the pupae so I promised that I would stop. I also realized it was taking lives.

After many years, I forgot my promise. One day in a supermarket, I saw the yellow silkworm pupae again. I bought three quarters of a kilo and fried them as soon as I arrived home. I completely forgot my promise and enjoyed the delicious taste.

Shortly after eating, I felt hot on my face and tightness in my chest, and I had difficulty breathing. A rash appeared on my face and quickly spread to my neck and shoulders. It was itchy and uncomfortable. I immediately looked inward in face of this sudden tribulation but couldn’t find the cause. I thought I might be allergic to the pupae.

I asked Master for help. I opened Zhuan Falun and the first paragraph I read was:

“As true practitioners, we should look at issues from a very high level instead of from the perspective of everyday people. Should you believe that you are ill, this may really cause you to become ill. This is because once you assume that you are ill, your xinxing level will be as high as that of everyday people. Qigong practice and true cultivation practice will not lead to illness, particularly under this condition.” (Lecture Six, Zhuan Falun)

I understood immediately. I am a true practitioner, a being that is not restricted by the principles of the Three Realms. Non-practitioners have food allergies, which is in line with the principles of ordinary people, but I am a cultivator.

I suddenly recalled the promise I made many years ago and enlightened that my breaking it was the root cause. I apologized to these lives that I broke my promise, violated the principle of truthfulness, and created a lot of karma by killing. I begged their forgiveness and offered to bury the rest of them so that they could have peace in their afterlife.

I buried the rest of the silkworm pupae in a flowerpot. The moment I buried them, the rash stopped spreading and my breathing returned to normal. In less than 20 minutes, I was completely fine again. I was once again amazed by the power of Dafa.

What’s more amazing was that the half kilogram of silkworm chrysalis buried in the flowerpot disappeared after two days. The soil was very dry so they could not have rotted so quickly. Even if they rotted, there should be some rotten substances. It was strange that there was no trace of silkworm chrysalis at all.

I deeply realized the seriousness of cultivation through this lesson. Practitioners must be truthful and honor their promises. I am also more strict with myself in eliminating my attachment to food.
