Additional Persecution News from China – April 19, 2022 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Face Indictment

Ms. Jin Guizhi, 80, Cui Guixi, 70s, (gender known), and Ms. Lin Zhenying in her 60s, have been harassed four times within a month by officers from the Gaotang County Domestic Security Division. The officers filed charges against them to the Donge County Procuratorate.

On April 18, 2022, officers Hua Xinggang and Yu Jinxing of the Domestic Security Division called practitioners’ family members, threatened them, and tried to extort 100,000 yuan and more from them.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lin and Ms. Yu Arrested

Two elderly practitioners from the Qiaokou District, grandma Lin (first name unknown) and grandma Yu (first name unknown), were arrested at the gate of Yingnan Community after 9:00 a.m. on April 18, 2022. Several officers took them away in a special police car. They have not been seen or heard from since.

3. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Shuzhen Arrested

Ms. Xu Shuzhen, 80, was arrested by officers from the Aimin Police Station on the morning of April 18, 2022, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

4. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Kang Wenling and Mr. Hou Guilan in Police Custody

Ms. Kang Wenling and Ms. Hou Guilan of Xinhejiayuan Community were arrested in Ms. Kang’s home by officers from the Longsha District Domestic Security Division and police station one afternoon in April 2022. Their homes were ransacked. They have been in police custody since then.

5. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Xueying and Ms. Zeng Qinling Detained Over Four Years

Ms. Tang Xueying and Ms. Zeng Qinling have been held in the Tiziling Detention Center since November 11, 2017.

6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Duncheng Faces Indictment

The case against Mr. Zhang Tuncheng was sent to the Huangdao Procuratorate.

7. [Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shufen and Ms. Sun Guofeng Harassed

Ms. Wang Shufen, nearly 80, was taken to the Shiqiao Police Station. Three officers grabbed her hands and pressed her fingerprints on the documents. Several days later, the police called her grandson to the police station and ordered him to sign documents.

Ms. Sun Guofeng, almost 80, was also called to the police station, where she was ordered to sign documents and fingerprint them.

8. [Mulan County, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Zhang Qingmei, An Liguang (gender unknown), and Guan Zhongling (gender unknown) of Zhaojialutun, Xinmin town, were repeatedly harassed by officers from the Xinmin Town Police Station. The officers tried to photograph them and have them sign documents. The practitioners refused to comply.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Chaofen Arrested

Ms. Huang Chaofen, in her 60s, was arrested and taken to the Wujin Town Police Station around 9:00 a.m. on April 8, 2022, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was released around 8:00 p.m.

10. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Lanqin in Police Custody

Ms. Li Lanqin was arrested at home by officers from the Sunlou Police Station on the morning of April 18, 2022. She has since been held by police.

11. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Police Continue Holding Ms. Fu Lei’s Property

Ms. Fu Lei, 48, was arrested by officers from the Rizhao City Development Zone Domestic Security Division on June 4, 2020. The officers seized her keys and ransacked her home and office without any of her family members being present, as required by law. They seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them, and all the electronics, including computers, printers, tablets, cell phones, U drives, etc., and other personal items as well as office supplies. She was held in the Dingquanshanzhuang Hotel. She was released on bail on June 17, 2020. A year later, the release on bail was lifted. The police still have not returned any of the items they took.
