(Minghui.org) I am from Chongqing and over 70 years old. I have cultivated in Falun Dafa for many years.
In the autumn of 2020, I was walking across a pedestrian crossing when a speeding motorcycle drove too close and knocked me down. My head swelled after hitting the roadside curb, my ankle was sprained, and, even more seriously, I had fractured my right tibia.
The man on the motorcycle was a farmer in his 40s. He was dressed very simply, to the point people might consider him shabby.
While laying on the ground injured, I had the thought, “I am a cultivator of Falun Dafa, and Master (Falun Dafa's founder) told us to put others before ourselves in everything we do. He drove so fast, so he must have had some urgent matters to attend to.
“And since he was wearing such simple clothes, he must be financially tight.”
I told him, “I don’t need you to be responsible for me; quickly get going. If you don't, you will be in trouble if the traffic police come.”
I did not expect that there really was a traffic officer who happened to witness the entire accident. When he saw me on the ground, he walked over.
I said, “I am fine. I just need to trouble this young man for a ride home.”
The traffic officer said, “You are injured so seriously so you must go to the hospital and let the traffic police team resolve the matter. If not, I will confiscate his motorcycle.”
The driver said that he had three sons and they were all in school, so they depended on him financially. They were living very hard lives.
In order to not let the farmer’s motorcycle be confiscated, I had no choice but to follow them to the county hospital. Miraculously, despite the relatively serious injury, I did not feel any pain and I could also walk.
After taking an X-ray, the doctor said, “Your right tibia is fractured, so we must install a metal plate.”
I said, “My leg is not fractured so I do not need the metal plate.” The doctor became angry and said, “This X-ray shows very clearly that it is fractured; how can we not install a metal plate?
“If you do not accept the treatment and something happens to you, who will be responsible?”
I said, “Nobody needs to be responsible. I will bear all the consequences myself.”
Seeing that I was so determined, the traffic officer said, “In that case, I will let him pay you a thousand yuan as recuperation fees. This money will be forked out by the insurance company and the insurance agent has already handed the money to me. Please stop rejecting it.”
I said that I did not want the money, and the traffic officer said, “Other people all hope to get more, but here you are, not wanting anything.”
The traffic officer forcefully stashed the money in my pocket in such a way that I had no choice but to accept it. I then asked the motorcycle driver to drive me to the residential community where I lived.
After arriving, I gave him the one thousand yuan.
The driver was touched and said, “I really met a good person today. Just now the traffic officer told me that for someone of your age, with injuries so serious, no matter how much money you ask for, I should give it to you.
“However, I did not expect that you wouldn't want any money. You even gave me the compensation money from the insurance company.”
I said, “I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, and our Master told us to put others before ourselves in whatever that we do.
“Your family situation is so difficult; how can I still want your money? I have my Master’s protection, so I will be fine and recover soon.”
After that, I explained to him about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations to obtain peace and safety, and how reciting the nine words of truth, ‘Falun Dafa is Good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good’ can bring him safety, harmony, and bliss.
He agreed to quit the CCP. After that, in less than two weeks, I was fully recovered.
I truly experienced that cultivating in Dafa and having a true and benevolent Master is really good.
