Additional Persecution News from China – December 7, 2022 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhou Meili Sentenced

Ms. Zhou Meili was arrested by officers from the Xiyilu Police Station on June 11, 2022, after someone reported her.

The Yongxiu County Court tried her on September 29, 2022, and sentenced her to three years and six months in prison on November 11, 2022.

2. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Song Yusheng Sentenced

Mr. Song Yusheng was arrested by officers from the Jimo Domestic Security Division at noon on August 8, 2022. He was taken to the Lancun Police Station the next day. After being held there for two months, he was transferred to the Pudong Detention Center where he was held for more than a month. His family called officer Dong in the Domestic Security Division and learned that he was tried and sentenced to three years in prison. His family has not received any notifications of the trial or his whereabouts.

3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Tianfu Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhu Tianfu of Caiyuan Village, Jiulongjie, Fangzi District, was arrested in his sister’s home on the morning of December 6, 2022, by officers from the Jiulongjie Police Station and the Fangzi Domestic Security Division. He is being held in the Jiangjia Brainwashing Center in the Fangzi District.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Tang Manzhi Arrested

Ms. Tang Manzhi was arrested by officers from the Damengzhuang Police Station on November 22, 2022, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers ransacked her home and seized her Falun Gong books and materials. She was taken to the police station. The village’s security director took her home that night.

5. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Liu Min and Yang Zhenlin Arrested

Liu Min and Yang Zhenlin of Lanxi County were arrested around 8:00 p.m. on December 5, 2022, when they were distributing information about Falun Gong in Pingshan Town. They were taken to the Pingshan Town Police Station.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Yunlan and Her Family Member Arrested

Ms. Liu Yunlan, 80, and her non-practitioner family member were arrested at home by two plainclothes officers from the Beijing Police Department and two officers from the Dewai Police Station on the morning of September 12, 2022. The officers ransacked her home and seized a copy of Zhuan Falun, Falun Gong printouts, U-drives, TF cards, keepsakes, copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and other items. She and her family member were taken to the police station. They were interrogated, photographed, and videotaped. Offices collected their personal information and released them that night.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Guohui and His Wife Ms. Yu Chunli Detained

Mr. Wang Guohui and his wife, Ms. Yu Chunli, from the Chengyang District left home to avoid the persecution. They and their son were arrested in their rental home around 8:30 p.m. on October 27, 2022, by officers from the Chengyang District Domestic Security Division and the Jihongtan Police Station. The officers pretended to check for a water leak and convinced their son to open the door. They went in and ransacked the place. They seized Falun Gong books, printers, notebooks, and other items. Mr. Wang and Ms. Yu have been held in the Jihongtan Police Station for 36 days. Their attorney is not allowed to visit them.

8. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Ao Lanying Arrested

Ms. Ao Lanying was arrested by officers from the Fucheng Police Station on the morning of November 27, 2022, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the police station and interrogated. The officers searched her and got the key to her home. That afternoon they went there and ransacked the place. They seized dozens of Falun Gong books.

9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Imprisoned

Ms. Wang Ruifeng was sentenced to four years and six months in prison. Ms. Xu Suqing was sentenced to 18 months in prison. They have been imprisoned in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison since July 15, 2022.

Ms. Wang Shujuan was sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Liu Lijuan was sentenced to 15 months in prison. They appealed, but the intermediate court affirmed their sentences.

10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiulan Imprisoned

Ms. Zhang Xiulan has been incarcerated in the Liaoning Women's Prison since November 21, 2022. Her family is not aware of her situation.

She was arrested by officers from the Taihe Domestic Security Division on July 9, 2021. She was sentenced to four years in prison by the Linghai City Court in December 2021.

11. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Xianhong Tried in Court

Ms. Yu Xianhong was formally arrested on September 6, 2022. She was tried on December 2, 2022. Her family was not allowed to attend her trial.

12. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Arrested, One Tried in Court

Ms. Cui Yongfeng was arrested at home with seven other practitioners who were reading Falun Gong books in her place and her non-practitioner husband on December 3, 2022. Around eight Miyi County Domestic Security Division officers, led by Yang Zihua, ransacked the place, seized their Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, and other items. They were interrogated in the Bingu Police Station. The officers had their families take them home that night.

Mr. Luo Banglin was tried in court in November 2022.

13. [Jilin City, Shandong Province] Mr. Miao Jianmin Arrested

Mr. Miao Jianmin was arrested after someone reported him for distributing Falun Gong flyers on November 30, 2022. His home was ransacked. He was released later that day.

14. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Guisheng Faces Trial

The case against Mr. Zhang Guisheng was filed to the Nanfen District Court by the Nanfen District Procuratorate on November 18, 2022. His family lawyer submitted the request to meet the defendant and review the case document. The latter was granted by the court. However, the meeting was not held because of the pandemic lockdown. The lawyer was notified on December 5 that a virtual trial is scheduled for December 8, 2022.
