My Sister Resumes Cultivation After Being Brainwashed by the Chinese Communist Party

(Minghui.org) My younger sister, Jing, was taken to Jinan Women’s Prison in February 2017. She was to serve a term of three and a half years for practicing Falun Dafa but was released nine months early.

Jing was severely brainwashed in prison. When she was released, she stubbornly rejected meeting any Falun Dafa practitioners and did not want to talk to anyone. She believed that the prison guards were for her own good. She was adamant about her ideas and refused to listen to anyone. I am her relative and also a Falun Dafa practitioner. Helping her return to cultivation was my responsibility. But what could I do when Jing refused to listen to anyone?

I increased my time studying the Fa and studied the Fa well. I also cultivated myself better and listened to Master. Surface manifestations aren’t important, what’s truly important is for one to look inward and eliminate human attachments.

I kept reminding myself of those principles and adhered to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I eliminated negative human attachments like competitiveness and reprimanding others. These attachments are a form of selfishness.

I no longer argued with her about Party ideals or pressed her to write a solemn declaration. I conducted myself in accordance with the Fa and truly cared for her. I went grocery shopping for daily necessities such as oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, eggs, rice, flour and millet. I also prepared clothing, such as pants, socks, shoes and jackets. I drove to the prison to pick her up and paid all the necessary costs.

I listened to Master by looking at Jing's positive side and less at her negative side. I tried not to form any negative notions about her and treasured the predestined relationship we had. I helped her to understand the principles of Dafa and changed the topic whenever she brought up negative thoughts or human attachments. Witnessing her shortcomings was a mirror of my own shortcomings. I looked inward and conducted myself with compassion by not reprimanding or complaining about her.

I abided by Master’s Fa when I chatted with her. I needed to truly understand Dafa’s principles for her to better experience the beauty of Dafa and the power of compassion. For example, I paid for Jing’s lawyer, airplane tickets and rental car, which totaled up to about 30,000 yuan (about USD $4,137). I never mentioned it to Jing or took a penny from her. When Jing learned about it two years later, she offered to pay me back but I refused.

I started to see changes in Jing two months later. She was no longer as stubborn as before. When she praised the police officers, I said, “Why were the police officers nice to you? The old forces arranged for the CCP to interfere in this Fa-rectification and to destroy humankind. They are trying to destroy you. Only Master and Dafa can save us.”

She did not argue, but still said that Dafa disciples should be arrested for breaking the law.

I said, “People should definitely be arrested if they break the law. It is the law of the universe to be rewarded if you do good and be punished if you do bad. However, you are a Dafa disciple and you have not committed any crime. Your bad notions were instilled in you by the old forces. You have to negate them!

“Dafa disciples are to save sentient beings during the Age of Last Havoc. Would you leave a person lying under a crumbling wall? Is it a crime to save them and to pull them away from the crumbling wall? Aren’t we saving them? The CCP is very evil and it forbids us from being good people.

“The communist regime has done too many evil things and now the Heavens will disintegrate it. We can't stand on the side of the evil and we need to steer away from it. Aren’t we doing a good thing? How can you say that we are committing a crime? We need to be clear about the principles of Dafa.

“I am not saying that you need to write a solemn declaration, but if you do not repent from your heart for your wrongdoings, the old forces will destroy you. You will have no more chances. If you truly believe in Master and repent, Master will definitely give you another chance. Master is compassionate and will not leave any disciples behind, including those who have stood on the opposite side of Dafa. I truly hope that you will resume cultivation.”

I continued, “I neglected you in the past and did not care much for you. I did not fulfill my responsibility as an older sister and let you suffer a lot. I will do my best to clarify the truth with you and save sentient beings. Let’s go home with Master together.”

Both of us were in tears and she kept thanking me.

I took care of Jing’s children when she wasn’t home and we lived harmoniously.

Jing had a dream about three or four months later. She dreamed of seeing two big plates of Chinese dates. One plate was green while the other plate was ripe and red. I told her that I had a dream as well. I dreamed that Jing and I were heading in opposite directions. Jing was heading south while I was heading north. The road heading north was well paved, while the road heading south still needed more work. A big construction truck then came to pave the road with asphalt. I enlightened to the hint that asphalt is a homophone to understanding the principles in Chinese.

The dream enlightened us to understand and be clear on the Fa principles. Only then will many things turn out for the better. Jing said, “I also had an enlightenment from my dream. The plate of ripe red dates meant that I need to be mature in cultivation. I need to learn to look inward and cultivate myself to become more mature.” I praised her for her enlightenment and told her to persist.

Jing wrote a solemn declaration a few days later and sent it to Minghui.org. She read Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa, in a day. She read all Master’s other lectures over the next three months. We began to study the Fa and share our cultivation experiences like we had in the past.

She said, “It is fortunate for one to be a Dafa disciple during the Fa-rectification period. Doing the three things is the best way to validate Dafa. We are not validating ourselves. Dafa is our priority. Abiding by Master's teaching is the safest way and nothing can be accomplished without Master’s protection. We need to have righteous thoughts, cultivate well, walk well on the path that is left ahead of us and follow Master home!”

I am truly happy for Jing for returning to cultivation.
