Delaware: Radio Talk Show Exposes Jiang Zemin’s Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) On December 1, the day after the death of Jiang Zemin, former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), WDEL radio station in Delaware broadcast a 20-minute special program titled “Jiang Zemin, Chinese Communist Genocidal Maniac Dies and the Truth of Zemin is told to Rick Jensen by a Falun Gong Survivor.”

Hosted by Rick Jensen, one of the 100 most influential talk show hosts in America, this program invited two guests, Crystal Chen (a victim of the persecution of Falun Gong) and Ben Maloney, director of digital promotion at the Falun Dafa Information Center (www.Faluninfo.net).

Rick Jensen told the radio audience that Jiang Zemin served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China from 1989 to 2002, Chairman of the Central Military Commission from 1989 to 2004, and President of China from 1993 to 2003. “What most Americans don’t know is that Jiang Zemin’s brutality of slave labor and genocide continues to this day. However, people will hear all about this first-hand from witnesses whose lives and families have been crushed by the Chinese Communist Party,” he remarked.

Because of the crimes of genocide and forced labor, Jensen referred to the CCP as a tyrannical organization. Maloney first explained why Jiang Zemin is the cruelest tyrant in history. “Jiang Zemin was the mastermind behind the incarceration, torture, and mass murder of 100 million people. In 1999, one in 13 people in China practiced Falun Gong. At that time, Falun Gong was very popular in China, with about 100 million followers,” he said. 

Falun Gong practitioners strive to be good citizens by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which is opposite to communism’s class struggle, violence, and atheism. As a result, Jiang started the persecution in 1999 and it has been ongoing since then. 

It is hard to estimate exactly how many practitioners have lost their lives to the persecution. One of the most horrifying crimes of Jiang’s was organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. “In the early 2000s, we started getting news about this crime, and then we got a lot of evidence of live organ harvesting. Peaceful practitioners of Falun Gong were illegally imprisoned, and while they were still alive, their organs were then stolen,” Maloney continued. “Authorities that commit this crime are military and state-funded hospitals. The organs are then sold on the black market. Therefore, this is entirely Jiang Zemin’s responsibility.”

Host Rick Jensen said when he first heard about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, he couldn’t believe it because it was “so cruel.” “Then I read more of these descriptions and read more reports from journalists in China who risked their lives and escaped with the evidence … Oh my God, that’s totally the truth. It’s not just happening years ago. It’s actually happening,” he added. 

Falun Gong practitioner Crystal Chen then shared her experience. She started to practice Falun Gong 25 years ago after witnessing how the practice enabled her mother to miraculously recover from terminal cancer and paralysis from a stroke. Not long after Chen took up the practice, however, Jiang launched the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999. Several days before Christmas that year, she sent a letter of petition to the government calling to end the persecution, but she was arrested because of that. Over the next five years, she was repeatedly arrested and persecuted.

“I lost my job,” she recalled. “My mother and I were also sent to a labor camp where we were forced to work in terrible conditions, working 16 hours a day. We had to do many things, like making artificial flowers, Christmas lights, and toys. I was shocked to learn that some of the toys we produced had Disney branding.”

In addition, Chen and other practitioners were severely tortured. “We were beaten, deprived of food and sleep, etc. The most brutal thing I’ve ever endured was force-feeding. The warden and other inmates pinned me to the concrete floor, forcing me to drink highly concentrated salt water that can kill. I was tortured until I had a seizure. Over the next few days, I vomited blood and salt water, and I couldn’t eat, drink or talk. A male Falun Gong practitioner died after being force-fed in this way.”

Chen said the purpose of the torture was to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their belief. Although Jiang has died, “The persecution is still going on. Countless Falun Gong practitioners in China are still being held in prisons and tortured,” she said. “I hope that more and more people in the West, including Delaware residents, understand what Falun Gong is and see through the evil nature of the CCP. I hope they help end the persecution of Falun Gong and the crime against humanity.”

Jensen has been monitoring and reporting on the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong over the past two decades and he reminded everyone to join the effort to help end the persecution of Falun Gong. At the Christmas parade last year in Elsmere, Delaware, he saw a large number of Falun Gong followers participating in the event and he also signed a petition urging a stop to the persecution. He urged more people to pay attention to this important matter and oppose the CCP’s forced labor and genocide.
