Additional Persecution News from China – October 1, 2022 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Multiple Practitioners Harassed

Three officers from the Beijing Road Police Station broke into Ms. Cao Suzhen’s house at around 5 p.m. on September 18, 2022. They photographed her living room and the address of her house, and then hurriedly left.

Two officers from the Haiyuan Police Station visited 76-year-old Ms. Tong Xianzhen at home around mid-September 2022. They claimed that they came because the 20th National Congress was about to be held. Officers from the Mojiang Political and Legal Affairs Committee and staff from Ms. Tong's former workplace in Mojiang also traveled to Kunming to visit her at home around the same time. They also claimed that they came because of the upcoming the 20th National Congress.

Three women from the Lianhua Judicial Office went to the home of Ms. Ma Ling and her daughter Ms. Zhang Ji at around 4:40 p.m. on September 22. One took videos with a cell phone from behind Ms. Ma and her daughter, and then quickly left.

2. [Qinghe County, Hebei Province] Practitioners’ Homes Ransacked

Lianzhuang Town Police Station officer Liang led three or four residential officers and village committee members to break into Ms. Wang Cuilan’s home on the afternoon of September 23, 2022. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of Falun Gong’s founder.

Later that day, these people led by Liang also broke into Ms. Dong Yufang’s home in Dongzhangzhuang Village and confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of Falun Gong’s founder.

Also on the same day, these people led by Liang went to the homes of Ms. Chen Shuzhi, Ms. Wang Suqin, and Ms. Tang Fengsu. The residential officers tore down paintings from their walls and paper cuts of “Blissfulness” which were on their doors.

Officer Liang, residential officers, and Party secretary Ma Chunfu of Mashuangfu Village went to Ms. Zhang Li’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of Falun Gong’s founder on the afternoon of September 26. Ms. Zhang was not at home at the time.

3. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ji Yongcheng Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Ji Yongcheng was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cong Xia Taken to Prison

Ms. Cong Xia was transferred from the Dalian City Detention Center to the Shenyang Women’s Prison in early August 2022. Due to the pandemic in Dalian, no visits by family members have been allowed so far.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wu Chengshou Taken to Prison

Mr. Wu Chengshou from Weicheng District was sentenced to 11 years in prison and fined 100,000 yuan. He was taken to Jinan Men’s Prison on September 22, 2022.

6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Huiqin Arrested

Ms. Zhao Huiqin from Lujiazhuang Village, Haotouzhuang Township, Dingzhou City, was arrested at home by officers from the Dingningdian Police Station at noon on September 27, 2022.

Ms. Zhao was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong some time ago, but was released due to the pandemic. This time, it is believed she is being held in the Dingzhou City Detention Center.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Shen Guangxiu Held in Detention Center

Ms. Shen Guangxiu from Yongchuan District was arrested a month ago. Her home was ransacked. She was officially placed under arrest and is currently being held in the Yongchuan District Detention Center.

8. [Tianjin] Practitioner Liu Haibo Arrested

Liu Haibo (gender unknown) was arrested.

9. [Pulandian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Guo Arrested

Guo (first name and gender unknown) from Wulitai Village was taken into custody by officers from the Nanshan Police Station on January 6, 2022, which was a follow-up to Guo’s arrest during the 2020 pandemic. In 2020, Guo was released and returned home after being extorted a large amount of money.

10. [Pulandian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chi Guihua Held in Detention Center

Ms. Chi Guihua was arrested on July 11, 2020. She has been harassed from time to time after returning home.

Ms. Chi was arrested again on September 22, 2022. She is being held in the Wafangdian City Detention Center for quarantine. In addition to paying a fine, her son, daughter, and son-in-law had to regularly report to the Fengrong Police Station.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Guixian Taken to Prison

It was reported that Ms. Fu Guixian from Pingfang District was sentenced to three years in prison. She was held in the Heilongjiang Women’s Prison. The police have harassed several practitioners at their homes.

12. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Huayang Arrested

Mr. Wang Huayang from Shagou Village, Biguo Town, has been displaced for ten years, since 2012.

When Mr. Wang was working on odd jobs in Qixia City, around the second half of August 2022, he was arrested by the Qixia City Police Department’s Domestic Security Division and the Zhaoyuan City Police Department’s Domestic Security Division. He is currently being held in the Qixia City Detention Center.

13. [Taiyuan City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Shen Guosheng Tried Twice

Staff members from the Community Management Office on Pingyang Road, Xiaodian District, and two officers from the Wangcun Police Station went to Mr. Shen Guosheng’s home to take photos of him on September 13, 2022.

Mr. Shen was arrested by officers from the Yingze Police Station and Xiaodian District Police Department in late 2021. He is being held in the Taiyuan City No. 2 Detention Center. He was tried twice, in July 2022 and September 2022. The verdict has not yet been announced.

14. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xing Xuelian Arrested

Ms. Xing Xuelian was arrested on September 27, 2022.

15. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Chunlian Arrested

Ms. Zhao Chunlian from Jugezhuang Town, Miyun District, was arrested by officers from the Jugezhuang Town Police Station while distributing Falun Gong materials at around 10 a.m. on September 4, 2022. She was given a hard time in the police station where she was held for two days. The officers took her to the Miyun District Police Department at night, where she was abused.

16. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Wenrong and Ms. Liu Yueping Arrested

Ms. Lu Wenrong, in her 70s, from Decheng District, was arrested and taken to the Hubinbeilu Police Station by five or six police officers and Domestic Security officers at around 10 a.m. on September 26, 2022.

The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a large number of personal belongings. Ms. Lu was interrogated. She was not released until 9 p.m.

Ms. Liu Yueping, in her 60s, was arrested at work by officers from the Decheng District Domestic Security Division and the Chezhan Police Station at around 10:30 a.m. on September 29, 2022.

The officers took her back home and ransacked the place. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and a large number of personal belongings. She was interrogated. She did not pass the medical examination in the hospital. Her legs were weak and her blood pressure was as high as 200. She was released that evening.

17. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Yucai’s Home Ransacked

Ms. Zhang Yucai, in her 70s, from Huyi District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong around September 16, 2022. Seven or eight officers from the Huimin Police Station ransacked her home on September 20. They confiscated all her Falun Gong books.
