Supporting My Husband in His Life-and-Death Trial

(Minghui.org) One morning in September 2020, after we finished doing the Falun Dafa exercises and eating breakfast, my husband rode his bicycle to work. A fellow practitioner and I studied a chapter of Zhuan Falun, and then went out to clarify the facts to people.

I hardly ever bring my phone with me when going out. After returning home I checked my cell phone and was dumb-founded by how many missed calls I had. Four calls were from my husband’s boss and 11 more were from various family members. What was going on? Was something wrong with my husband? Upon thinking about that, Master’s Fa appeared in front of me, “...“Good is a far greater force than evil.”...” (The Fifth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

We are practitioners who have Master’s fashen to protect us. No matter what kind of trial or tribulation was brewing, it’s all for helping us eliminate our attachments.

After I calmed down, I picked up my cell and was about to return the calls, when a call from my daughter-in-law came through. She said, “Mom, you finally answered the call! How come you didn’t have your cell phone with you? We have been so worried. My father-in-law is in the hospital. He has had many tests and the doctor decided to admit him. Please come over quickly.” “Sure. My daughter-in-law, please don’t worry. I’ll be there shortly.”

After I hung up, my first thought was: No matter what outcome the results showed, the tests have to do with ordinary people health care practices, which has nothing to do with our practitioners. What we cultivate is the universal Dafa, and we have benevolent Master protecting us at all times. Instantly, I was so calm and sent forth powerful righteous thoughts. I’d only walk on the path arranged by Master. The Fa would guide me to find all my attachments, and I would rectify and eliminate them. While thinking about that, I walked outside and headed to the hospital.

When I arrived at the first intersection, I saw the red light turn green immediately. At the second intersection, it changed to a green light again in six seconds. I thanked Master Li for giving me green lights all the way. I knew I must pass this test. When I arrived at the hospital and entered the waiting room, it was totally empty. I have practiced Falun Dafa for more than 20 years and never had any medicine or hospitalizations. Thus, I was at a loss as to what to do next. I realized that I had left my cell phone at home. So, I thought that I should just keep moving forward.

After I headed towards the in-patient department, I suddenly saw my brother-in-law pushing my husband on a gurney. My daughter-in-law and her three-year-old son were by his side. I shouted, “My brother-in-law, stop, please don’t go in, but turn around. He is fine, let’s go home.” They didn’t listen, but still, went right into the entrance of the in-patient department. At that time, my daughter-in-law went to look for the attending physician, to go over his test results, and then dealt with the paperwork for having my husband admitted to the hospital.

I came to my husband, seeing that his eyes were tightly closed and he looked pale. When I touched his hand, it was freezing cold. I said to him, “Hello, please wake up, how about if we go home? You are fine, please quickly ask Master to help you and recite ‘Falun Dafa is wonderful! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful!’ quietly. Master will save you for sure.” He just laid there quietly. I asked my brother-in-law, “How did you find out your brother was ill?” He said, “I went to your home, but no one was there. Then I happened to hear your cell ringing. As soon as I saw it was from your husband’s boss, I picked it up immediately. He told me that my brother had fallen at work and asked me to come quickly and take him to the hospital. After he hung up, I quickly went to the workplace and found that your husband was unconscious. We rushed him here to the hospital.”

I said, “Thank you so much! He is fine, as he is not an ordinary person, he has Master protecting him. Please rest assured.” My brother-in-law said, “He is unconscious, yet you are still saying he is fine. Let’s wait and see what his doctor has to say.” I replied, “Please take it easy. Everything will be fine.” I was by my husband’s side, calling his name over and over. I thought to myself, “You are a being created by Dafa, let’s leave everything with Master.”

After I called my husband’s name several times, he began to move his hand slowly. I asked him, “How are you doing? Do you know who you are?” He said, “I’m fine. I’m a practitioner.” His voice was very low with both eyes tightly closed. I then said, “Right, we are practitioners. With Master and Dafa here, we don’t acknowledge anything other than what’s arranged by Master.”

The doctor arrived and showed us my husband’s brain MRI image on a machine. The image clearly showed a brain stem hemorrhage. The doctor asked, “How did he fall down?” I said, “He went to work as usual. He was normal then, with nothing out of the ordinary. But he suddenly fell down at work.” The doctor said, “If that’s the case, since he wasn’t hit by something, then that’s a big problem. Look, it shows he has a main brain stem hemorrhage. We are not in a position to treat him here. I’ll authorize transfer to the municipal hospital immediately. Meanwhile, I’ll give him a shot to stop the bleeding. You’d better leave here and head over to the other hospital as quickly as you can.” I said to my daughter-in-law, “Your father-in-law is fine. We are not going anywhere, let me take him home now.” She replied, “What? You are going home? Are you crazy? Didn’t you hear what the doctor just said?!”

She continued, “Your son is out of town today, now I’m in charge. Mom, please work with me, I’ll go find a car, then we’ll leave here immediately.” I didn’t refute her, but said quietly, “Thank you, but we have Master to take care of us. The hospital is not the place for us to stay.” She ignored what I said, but quickly went to look for a car.

I came to my husband calmly, then asked him loudly, “Are you sick?” Right then, my husband opened up his eyes and said, “I am fine!” I said, “If you aren’t sick, how come you are still lying there? Let’s go home, alright? Let’s go.” Hearing what I said, the doctor next to me became impatient, “What are you doing? Don’t be ridiculous! Don’t move, lie down please!” I said, “Doctor, please take it easy. This has nothing to do with you.” Then I helped my husband get out of the hospital all by myself. There happened to be a cab at the entrance, so we got in it. There were two intersections before we reached home. As soon as we approached them, the red light turned green, so we had a smooth ride home. We realized that we did the right thing, thus, Master gave us the green lights as a way to encourage us.

As I didn’t have any money with me, I went inside my house to grab a truth-clarification currency and then passed it on to the driver. I told him to sincerely recite Falun Dafa is wonderful! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful! In doing so, he’d receive good fortune. He nodded and smiled at me.

After we got home, I turned on Master’s Fa-lecture recordings so that my husband could listen. He sat in a lotus position and listened attentively. After fellow practitioners heard about my husband’s tribulation, they used all kinds of ways to support us as much as they could.

At that time, the door bell rang, my daughter-in-law rushed in and said to us angrily, “Mom, my father-in-law’s life is in your hands, you look after him! Let me tell you, the doctor said that he has to undergo brain surgery or vascular stents. If the surgery goes well, and he survives he still won’t be able to work for one or two years. It is possible my father-in-law may die or become a vegetable. These all depend on if he can be treated in time. Why are you waiting at home now? Have you thought about the serious consequences? If my father-in-law did not survive, you would be miserable. You are only in your 50s. Even though your children are filial, they also have their own families. Besides, they have to work and can’t always be there for you.” I said to her, “Your father-in-law is fine, please rest assured, isn’t he looked after by Master?” When she realized that she couldn’t convince me, she just left.

After a little while, a family member who is a famous doctor in our hometown arrived. My daughter-in-law had called him. He said, “I saw his film and it appears that this situation is very serious. Your husband must receive treatment now, as opposed to waiting at home. How can we in good conscience do nothing for him?!” I said, “Thank you for coming all the way here, it’s truly appreciated! Your uncle is not a regular person, but a Falun Dafa practitioner. A practitioner has no illness.” After that, the doctor turned around and left. Then my daughter-in-law came back and said, “I have done what I’m supposed to do. Your son will return home shortly.” I responded, “We know, my daughter-in-law, with your filial piety, you have touched heaven and earth, and the gods overhead. Your father-in-law will be fine, please go home and rest. Just wait to hear the good news from us.”

When my son came back, I said, “My son, your wife had a very busy day today. She also spent a lot of money. She was very anxious and sent a doctor to see your father. My son, we are practitioners. We have faith in Master and Dafa in every trial and tribulation, use the Fa principles to measure things, and leave everything with Master. It’s all illusions, miracles will for sure appear. If you want to see your father get better soon, please sincerely recite ‘Falun Dafa is wonderful! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful!’ which is the best cure.” My son said, “Dad and mom, I know. I don’t want to say anything more, but I hope if you practice, you take it seriously, measure your every thought and action against the Fa, and be true practitioners.” I replied, “Please be at ease, my son, also thank you for your understanding.”

Finally it became quiet, and I saw that my husband’s face had became rosy as he listened to Master’s lecture recordings attentively. I said to him deep down, “You heard what we said, didn’t you? Leave yourself with Master. With Master here, with Dafa here, we have nothing to fear. Whatever you have to endure, you will endure. But as for any interference, we’ll dismantle it! Master, please take charge of your disciples.”

My husband got better and better. In the evening, he got out of bed and went to the washroom by himself. He also had dinner with me. We spent the next day listening to Master’s lecture recordings. At 10 p.m., he went to bed, but at midnight, he sat up and sent forth righteous thoughts with us. At 4:30 a.m., my daughter-in-law came to check on him. When she saw that we were doing the exercises, she let out a big sigh and said, “I had my cell phone with me after I went to bed, in case you called. Since I could no longer stand to wait for sunrise, I decided to come here. My father-in-law, you look fine. Do you still feel dizzy?” My husband said, “I’m fine now. It’s Master Li who saved me. Please relax, I’m recovered!”

“Awesome! It’s truly miraculous! Miraculous!” My daughter-in-law let out a laugh from deep down, “Did you know why your son didn’t come with me this morning? He cried so much last night that his eyes were swollen. Now he feels self-conscious about seeing you.”

Thus, under such a life-and-death trial, empowered by Master and helped by fellow practitioners, my husband broke through this ordeal. He is now in good spirits, and his face has a rosy complexion. Although he is in his 60s, he looks like one in his 40s. All of the benefits he received are attributable to Master and Falun Dafa!

Friends, do not believe in the slander and defamation towards Falun Dafa from the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Falun Dafa is a high-level cultivation of the Buddha school, which is also a cultivation method of both mind and body. When practitioners follow Falun Dafa principles in cultivation, and treat themselves as a cultivator, Master can do anything for them.

Thank you Master for your immense saving grace! I never realized how much karma Master has endured for his disciples. In our future cultivation, no matter how long it is, we will treat the Fa as Master, do the three things well, cultivate diligently, and save more sentient beings so that Master can have more peace of mind and less worry. We will cultivate diligently to follow the Fa-rectification process, and follow Master Li to return home!
