Using Compassion When Calling People in the Chinese Judicial System

(Minghui.org) I have recently been making calls to people employed in police stations, the Procuratorate, and judicial departments in Sichuan, China, as a member of the global telephone rescue group. The reason for targeting these people is because they are actively involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Most police officers did not listen to my calls, and they hung up when I explained why was I calling. Many swore at me before they hung up. Some deliberately picked up the phone but then put it aside to run up my telephone bill and waste my time. Occasionally they listened without saying a word.

No matter how they responded, I never hesitated to call them again, displaying great patience, perseverance, and compassion so I could talk to them. I didn’t get angry, and I used a calm tone when I spoke. At the same time, I treated everyone as if we were friends. I tried to have the other party feel that I was just sharing some important information with them, not giving them a lecture on ethics.

I also stopped pursuing any particular result from the calls. I focused on how to save the people who picked up the phone. I kept sending righteous thoughts while waiting for the call to go through. I reminded myself that I must treat everyone with kindness and compassion.

I called about 40 phone numbers one day and spent more time sending righteous thoughts than talking on the phone. I believed that every phone call had a positive effect, and would support my fellow practitioners in China.

I called one police officer eight times. He answered my first call, swore at me, and immediately hung up. I called his number repeatedly. On the eighth try, he angrily said, “Why do you keep calling me? Do you have money? I’ll listen to you only if you pay me,” and immediately hung up when I said I had no money to pay him. He never answered my calls after that.

I was not angry at his rudeness and was not moved. I remained calm and went on to call the next person.

More often than not, some police officers answered the phone and listened to me for a few seconds before they hung up. They answered when I called again and hung up after listening to me for a few seconds. When this happened, I had to pass the messages to them as briefly and as quickly as I could.

I usually said, “I am calling to tell you and your family how to stay safe in this chaotic time. Please do not persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Please protect them when you can. Please withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and remember the auspicious phrases, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”

The head of a 610 Office once answered my call. He didn’t respond at all, but neither did he hang up. I first greeted him and his family politely. I said that I hoped they would stay safe after the Sichuan earthquake.

I then ask him to take “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” to heart. I said he would witness miracles if he sincerely recited the phrases. I told him that many people had escaped calamities, and remained safe by doing so.

“Falun Dafa (also called Faun Gong) teaches people to be good,” I said, “and cultivates Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Protecting Falun Gong practitioners earns blessings, but continuing to persecute them means one will face punishment from humans and Heaven, and one could even face elimination by Heaven.”

I continued, “The Minghui website has reported more than 20,000 examples of people in the judicial system who participated in persecuting Falun Gong, and died unexpectedly. I am not trying to scare you by telling you this. I hope that you can stay safe for the sake of yourself and your family.”

I always told the police officers that the former head of the CCP, Jiang Zemin, once said he could wipe out Falun Dafa within three months. He launched the persecution of Falun Dafa. I then said that Falun Dafa is practiced in more than 100 countries worldwide, and has received more than 4,000 awards globally. The main text of Falun Dafa, Zhuan Falun, has been translated into more than 40 languages.

I then said that due to persecuting Dafa, Jiang Zemin has charges against him in more than 30 countries. He is charged with genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity. I said that everyone who participates in persecuting Falun Gong is executing illegal orders from Jiang instead of acting based on the law. Thus, when the law starts to prosecute the wrongdoers, they will face litigation.

If they were still listening, I told them the facts about the staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square, and that 400 million people have withdrawn from the CCP.

I always ask people to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and protect them as much as possible. I ask them to quit the CCP and recite the auspicious phrases. I also suggest that they report the persecution cases to the Minghui website, or if possible to overseas practitioners.

I have practiced Falun Dafa for 16 years. I understand how difficult it is to save people. I couldn’t have made the phone calls without Master’s protection and encouragement. Other practitioners also helped me a lot. I hope together we can witness what Master said in Hong Yin IV,

“...As the autumn wind blows, red changes to yellowMadness no more, panic every dayThe wicked will be punished immediately with no escape…” (“Do You Still Act Wildly,” Hong Yin IV)
