Additional Persecution News from China – October 2, 2022 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] The Case Against Wang Jian Submitted to the Court

The case against Wang Jian (gender unknown) from Bin County was submitted to the Yilan County Procuratorate on August 26, 2022. It has now been submitted to the Yilan County Court.

2. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Jin Meihua and Mr. Wang Dawu were arrested on September 26, 2022, for distributing calendars that contained information about Falun Gong. Mr. Wang’s wife Ms. Wu Xiangbing was also taken away. They are still detained.

3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] 12 Practitioners Arrested

Twelve practitioners from Acheng District were arrested by officers from different police stations on September 26, 2022. The practitioners are Qi Baoyan, Sun Yajun, Cheng Baoying, Cheng Baohong, Xie Jincai, Xie Jinxian, Zhao Caihong, Ms. Zhang Lihua, and her son, Han Guilan, Li Jun, and Guan Shuzhi. Most of them have been released.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Fu Shengqiang Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Fu Shengqiang was taken to a brainwashing center in late August 2022. His whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Ying from Gudao Town was arrested by officers from Yucheng City on September 27, 2022. She is detained in the Dezhou City Detention Center.

6. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Jiang Minghui Faces Trial

Mr. Jiang Minghui was arrested when he talked to people about Falun Gong on August 4, 2021. He was detained in the Xiguoyuan Detention Center for over a year. Mr. Jiang will be tried in Chengguan District Court at 9 a.m. on October 14, 2022.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Yuxia Missing

The door of Ms. Zhu Yuxia’s rented apartment was found wide open at 5 p.m. on September 29, 2022. Ms. Zhu hasn’t been to work since then.

8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Hui Arrested

Mr. Han Hui, over 70, was reported to police for talking to a plainclothes officer about Falun Gong on the afternoon of September 28, 2022. Two officers from the Development Zone Police Station went to his home on September 30, 2022. They ransacked his home and confiscated four Falun Gong books, some truth-clarifying materials, a computer and a printer. Mr. Han was placed under 10-day detention that would not be executed because of his age. He has returned home.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Shuhui Arrested

Several officers went to Ms. Yu Shuhui’s home at 8 a.m. on September 26, 2022. They ransacked her home. Ms. Yu was handcuffed and taken away. It is unknown where she is detained.

10. [Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wang Meiying Harassed

Two officers including Huang Longlong and Zeng from the Nanwai Police Station in the Zhanggong District went to Ms. Wang Meiying’s home on the morning of August 30, 2022. They pressured Ms. Wang to sign the three statements, which she refused. They confiscated the photo of Falun Gong’s founder from the wall.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Jianhua to be Released After Being Imprisoned for 5 Years

Ms. Jiang Jianhua was sentenced to five years in prison on October 8, 2017, and has been detained in the No.2 Ward, Liaoning Province Women’s Prison in Shenyang City. She should be released soon.
