Additional Persecution News from China – January 3, 2022 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Shuxian Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Shuxian Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Fu Shuxian from the Pingfang District was arrested on October 28 or 29, 2021, and has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison. She is in poor health and unable to walk.

2. [Huzhu County, Qinghai Province] Mr. Liu Yongxiu Faces Trial

Mr. Liu Yongxiu, 79, was arrested at home by officers from the Huzhu County Police Department on June 25, 2021. He was very healthy when arrested, but by December his life was in life danger. He was allowed to bail out for medical treatment. His family spent more than 20,000 yuan in medical costs and he recovered. Mr. Liu was recently informed that he will be tried in the Huzhu County Court on January 5, 2022.

3. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhou Huajian Faces Trial

Mr. Zhou Huajian, 70, was arrested by officers from the Maonan District Police Department in March 2020 for sending truth clarifying texts. He is currently being detained in the No. 1 Detention Center of Maoming City. He will be tried online by the Maonan District Court on January 5, 2022.

4. [Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Jiang Wenling and Mr. Yang Mingqiang Arrested

Ms. Jiang Wenling, 70, and Mr. Yang Mingqiang, 74, talked to people about Falun Gong at the No. 11 Shanghai Line on August 2, 2021. Mr. Yang had a cell phone with him at the time.

Seven police officers went to Mr. Yang’s home at around 9:30 p.m. on the same day. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and USB drives. Mr. Yang was arrested and taken to the Huaqiao Police Station. The seven police officers then went to Ms. Jiang’s home at around 11:30 p.m. that day. They didn’t get in even though they knocked on the door for more than one hour. When Ms. Jiang went downstairs at around 7 a.m. the next morning the police arrested her. They ransacked her home. Ms. Jiang was taken to the Huaqiao Police Station. She was later released on bail pending trial.

The two practitioners were called to the Shanghai Railway Transportation Police Department on November 28, 2021. They were questioned and pressured to write statements renouncing Falun Gong.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Ge Lingzhen Sentenced to One Year and Six Months in Prison

Ms. Ge Lingzhen was sentenced to one year and six months in prison in late November 2021.

6. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Xiangpei Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yang Xiangpei lives in Xiangyu Community, Shouyangshan Sub-division, Yanshi District. She was arrested at her workplace on December 24, 2021 and was placed in detention.

7. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Li Bing Detained

Li Bing (gender unknown) in the No. 2 Management Area of Gudao Oil Production Plant was taken to the Dongying Brainwashing Center in mid-December 2021. Four employees from Li’s workplace were assigned to take turns watching Li.

8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wei Qishan and His Wife Ms. Yu Shurong Persecuted

Mr. Wei Qishan and his wife Ms. Yu Shurong were sentenced to four years in prison and three and a half years in prison respectively in July 2019. Mr. Wei later died in the detention center. Ms. Yu was detained in the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison and released on December 11, 2021.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Guizhen Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yu Guizhen was arrested by officers from the Xixin Police Station at around 9 p.m. on October 16, 2021. Her home was ransacked. Her personal belongings were confiscated, including her Falun Gong books, computer, printer, a box of calendars, her ID card, and her cell phones. Ms. Yu was detained one night in the police station then transferred to the Weizigou Detention Center on October 17, 2021. She was detained there for 15 days and was transferred back to the police station on November 1, 2021. The next day she was taken to the No. 4 Detention Center of Changchun City where she is still detained in cell no. 202. Ms. Yu has now been placed under official arrest by the Luyuan District Procuratorate.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Guixiang Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Zhang Guixiang was sentenced to three years in prison. She appealed to the Changchun Intermediate Court and the case was filed.
