Changing Completely After Practicing Falun Dafa

(Minghui.org) No matter what your profession or your social class, Falun Dafa is a virtuous cultivation practice that can change a true practitioner into a person with a high moral standard.

I used to be selfish and valued fame and personal interest very highly before practicing Falun Dafa. I would be very happy for a tiny bit of personal gain, and very upset if I was not able to get any. My life used to be stressful and tiring.

The teachings in Falun Dafa enabled me to realize the principle of gain and loss that relieved me from a stressful life.

Master said,

“… a practitioner should follow the course of nature. If something is yours, you will not lose it. If something is not yours, you will not have it even if you fight for it.” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)

“There is a principle in this universe called, "no loss, no gain." To gain, one must lose.” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)

Letting Go of the Attachment to Personal Gain

In communist China, a business trip is an opportunity for personal gain where a person may ask the hotel attendant, restaurant cashier, or taxi driver to write a receipt higher than actual payment for reimbursement, to receive more from one’s company.

After becoming a Falun Dafa practitioner, I have a higher moral level and refused to do so any longer. Once a colleague and I went to Beijing on a business trip. When we were checking out of the hotel, my colleague asked the attendant to write a receipt higher than the actual charge. She did as he asked. When the attendant turned to me, I told her to write the exact amount of the charge.

Once I recommended a contractor to a job of our company. After he completed the project on time, and it was of high quality, I, the technical supervisor, approved the payment without any delay. Afterward, he phoned me that he had put 2,000 yuan (about USD300) in a drawer of my desk as his appreciation.

It took some effort to find the bank account of the contractor to return the money. When he learned that I did so because I was a Falun Dafa practitioner, he respected the principles of practitioners.

For some of the kickbacks that could not be returned, I gave them to the company cashier to register as company revenue. My actions won the trust of my leaders and coworkers. A company leader once said openly, “If more people would practice Falun Gong, this society would be better.”

Promoted to a Senior Position

I earned an associate degree after two years of college. A colleague of mine had the same associate degree but obtained a fake certificate of education and was promoted to senior engineer in 2013. He told me how to do it and encouraged me to get a fake certificate. So I wouldn't hurt his feelings, I thanked him for his willingness to help me and politely declined the suggestion.

Being a Falun Dafa practitioner, I worked hard, was responsible, and my technical skills improved quickly. I led a team of technicians, and we solved many challenging issues successfully. But I had carried an engineering title for 20 years without any promotion.

Recognizing my achievements, some leaders wanted to help me also receive a senior title. I was promoted to senior engineer by the end of 2015 as an exception. One month later, my job position and pay were also raised to match the title.

Most companies in China separated senior titles from job positions and pay, meaning that a lot of senior engineers are working the junior job. I know some people carried a senior title but were never hired to a senior position until their retirement.

Family Relationships Harmonized

I used to regard myself as the center of the family and was selfish. I often joined the gatherings of colleagues or former classmates and neglected my wife and my family. She was upset and couldn’t change me. I was also picky regarding the dishes she cooked and quarreled with her. I was not considerate.

Falun Dafa changed me. I became more considerate of her feelings, helped her with the housework, and can now talk with her calmly. Naturally, our relationship harmonized.

My wife said practicing Falun Dafa changed me completely. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to obtain this precious virtuous Falun Dafa in this lifetime.
