(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Xiubo was arrested on February 15, 2021, in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, a coastal city about 1,600 miles from her home in Daxing'anling Prefecture, Heilongjiang Province. It has been nearly three months since she was taken to the Huma County Detention Center in Daxing’anling.

Ms. Wang’s latest arrest is a continuation of the persecution she has suffered over the past 22 years since the Chinese communist regime began to persecute her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline, in 1999. For upholding her faith, she has served three labor camp terms and was subjected to a variety of torture methods before being forced to live away from home to hide from the police.

First One-year Labor Camp Term

With the onset of the persecution, Ms. Wang, then a resident of Huichun City, Jilin Province, went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. After she returned home in October 1999, the Huichun police arrested and interrogated her.

Li Zhuzhe, the deputy police head, slapped Ms. Wang in the face, grabbed her hair, hit her head against the wall, and kicked her. When Ms. Wang refused to give information about other Falun Gong practitioners, the police forced her to stand for five days. Her legs and feet were seriously swollen and lost feeling in them.

Ms. Wang was later given one year of forced labor. Because she had a persistent high fever, the police temporarily released her, only to take her back to the Huichun City Detention Center nine months later and hold her for another three months.

Second Three-year Labor Camp Term

Ms. Wang was arrested again in 2001 and force-fed in the Huichun City Detention Center. She was given three years in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp on December 25, 2001. She had to get up at 4 a.m. every day and do unpaid labor until 9 p.m.

Third 2.5-year Labor Camp Term

Ms. Wang was arrested at her residence in Beijing in March 2006. At the Beijing Detention Center, she was force-fed when she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The guards added excessive amounts of salt into the liquid food. She had nosebleeds and acute stomachaches after the force-feeding.

Because Ms. Wang refused to renounce Falun Gong, the guards chained her hands and feet together so that she was unable to stand up to walk. They wouldn’t even unchain her to use the restroom.

Ms. Wang was later transferred to the Beijing Forced Labor Dispatch Division and held for over three months. She was denied use of the restroom for four days. The inmates constantly beat and kicked her and stuffed her mouth with socks and rags used to clean the floor. The guards once beat her and pulled out a large patch of her hair, then warned her not to tell anyone.

In August 2006, she was taken to the Hohhot Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia to serve a 2.5-year term. She was closely monitored by the inmates, deprived of sleep, and forced to work for long hours each day without pay.

Forced to Live Away from Home

Ms. Wang was arrested again on May 22, 2013, and held in the Huma County Detention Center in Heilongjiang Province for five months and three days. The police extorted a large amount of money from her family before releasing her on bail.

After Ms. Wang returned home, the police constantly harassed her and her brothers. They later ordered her brothers to take her to the police station on December 28, 2013. If they didn’t, they would have to pay a huge fine as well as lose their jobs.

To avoid being arrested, Ms. Wang was forced to move away to hide from the police. Unable to find her, the police still fined her brothers, with the excuse that they were her guarantors. The police also posted Ms. Wang’s ID online and put her on the “Wanted” list.
