Senior Chinese Officials Quit the Chinese Communist Party (Part 1)

(Minghui.org) As the persecution of Falun Gong in China enters its 22^nd year, Falun Gong practitioners around the world have worked tirelessly to call attention to the atrocities taking place against this peaceful mind-body cultivation practice. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has conducted a smear campaign for over two decades to mislead its citizens about Falun Gong and foster an environment where such a persecution can take place. To help dispel the lies and slander, Falun Gong practitioners in North America have been calling people in China to help them understand the practice of Falun Gong and how the CCP has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners and other innocent citizens. This work is vitally important, as, due to the CCP’s internet blockade, it is very difficult for people on the mainland to obtain true, uncensored information. Since the beginning of 2021, practitioners have intensified their efforts to reach more people in China.

Many who receive the calls have expressed gratitude to practitioners for sharing information that they were not aware of. Some were happy to renounce their membership in the CCP and its junior organizations, the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers. A number of people said they had already quit these organizations. 

In this article, we present three accounts of phone calls to government officials in China. The first is about a deputy mayor in southern China who expressed his wish to read Falun Gong books. The second is about an official who, after having been a member of the CCP for 50 years, finally recognized the CCP's brutal nature and now exposes its true colors on social media every day. The third is about an official in Beijing who learned the facts from reading The Epoch Times newspaper and subsequently declined to join the CCP when invited. 

Deputy Mayor: I Want to Read Your Books

Deputy mayor Liu (pseudonym), was glad to speak with the practitioner who called him.

The practitioner said that access to uncensored information would help people handle the challenges the world is facing and plan for a better future. She mentioned that the international community is already aware of the severe persecution against Falun Gong in China. 

For example, in June 2019, the China Tribunal in London announced the results of its investigation of forced organ harvesting from living imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience in China. “The conclusion shows that many people have died indescribably hideous deaths for no reason,” said tribunal chairman Sir Geoffrey Nice. It was unequivocally concluded that the CCP has committed the crimes of torture and crimes against humanity. 

Very interested, Liu asked the practitioner to speak louder and repeat the information. The practitioner repeated it and reminded him that many practitioners had been arrested in the city where Liu worked. “Because you are a senior official here, you will likely be held accountable when the international community investigates this severe human rights violation later on,” the practitioner continued. “It is better to have a plan instead of sinking with the CCP. Right?”

“I already know some of this information and agree with what you said,” Liu replied. 

The practitioner talked more about the health benefits of Falun Gong as well as its effect on improving a person's character. She also discussed the CCP’s defamatory propaganda and its brutal persecution against Falun Gong. 

Liu listened quietly. 

“I want to read your books. How can I get one?” he asked. 

The practitioner said the books are available for free download at falundafa.org in over 40 languages. She then provided information about free software that circumvents the CCP’s internet blockade. Liu was very happy and thankful. 

Before ending the call, the practitioner also explained the importance of quitting the CCP organizations. When she asked if he wanted to renounce his membership in the CCP, Liu answered loudly and without hesitation, “Yes!”

Exposing Viciousness

An older man in Ningxia Province said that he had already heard about quitting the CCP. Although he had been a Party member for about 50 years, for the past several decades he could not agree with its ideology. “I know it is a vicious regime,” the man said. “They welcome you to join the Party, but if you want to leave, they might kill you.”

The practitioner explained that one could quit the CCP with a pseudonym for safety reasons. “As soon as one separates from the regime in their heart, heaven will see this and one will be blessed with a better future,” she said. The man agreed to quit the Party with the pseudonym of Wan Shun (meaning “everything will go smoothly”). 

The man shared that because he knew the CCP so well, every day he posts articles on social media about the bad deeds the Party has committed. “Some of the information is from overseas media. I have learned a lot about the CCP’s history and share the information in chat groups,” he added. 

When the practitioner thanked him for the hard work, the man said that there were some risks but that it is worth it because Chinese people need to be awakened from the extensive brainwashing they’ve been subjected to. Although the man said he had nothing to fear, he knew that the CCP is ruthless. “When it persecutes someone, even family members could be affected. So I have been doing this carefully and wisely,” he continued. 

He said that he agreed with the Trump administration's stance that the CCP is not the same as the Chinese people. Therefore, he's exposing the CCP's evil so that more people can understand the importance of rejecting the CCP and loving the actual nation. 

He discussed how in the beginning of the Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx wrote, “A specter is haunting Europe — the specter of communism.” The man said that the spitit of communism has harmed mankind for nearly two centuries. “If we do not stop it from doing evil, all of us will suffer,” he explained. 

Official in Beijing: A Loyal Reader of The Epoch Times 

One man said that he is an official in the Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC). He said he trusted overseas media such as The Epoch Times, and had not watched CCTV’s prime time “xin wen lian bo” (News Broadcast) for five years. “I do not believe in anything that the Party says,” he explained. 

Regarding quitting the CCP, he said that leaders at his workplace had asked him many times to join the CCP but he always said no. He shared that several years ago he’d already renounced his membership in the CCP’s junior organizations, the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. “I also read or listen to The Epoch Times news every day for unbiased information,” he said. 

The official said that his guiding principle is “doing good deeds every day and leaving no regrets for later.” Since childhood, his mother had told him to be a good person. “I know Falun Gong well and some of my friends are practitioners,” he remarked. “I know the suppression is crazy, but I always support practitioners.”

Because of his open-mindedness and frankness, the police blocked his phone number twice. Leaders at his workplace have also discussed it with him. He said to the practitioner, “But I will say that you have done well to help people stay informed. Let’s work together and I sincerely hope all of you [practitioners] are doing well.”
