Village CCP Head Finally Made the Right Choice after Understanding the Truth

(Minghui.org) Ever since Jiang Zemin, the former CCP (Chinese Communist Party) leader, started the persecution of Falun Dafa in July 1999, San, the head of the local CCP organization in my village, assisted the CCP in the persecution.

Practitioners kept telling him the facts, but he didn't change.

San Reported Practitioners Several Times

In 2000, I returned home from the detention center where I’d been illegally detained.

My family owned a clinic, and once when two patients came to visit, San went to the town hall and reported us to the manager.

He reported that some Falun Dafa practitioners were at my house to “engage in a group plot.” A practitioner from my village, who happened to be at the town hall on business, overheard this.

I went to San's house. When he saw me, his face turned red. I said, “The people who came to my house were patients. Do you know who reported their visit to the township manager?”

He just repeated my question: “Who would have reported it?” Knowing he didn’t have the courage to admit it, I did not want to embarrass or blame him.

Instead, I told him, “If you find out, please tell him the facts and encourage him not to do anything so bad and silly anymore. Everyone in our village knows how Falun Dafa practitioners behave. You need to protect these good people.” He looked at me and didn't say a word.

Another time, San went to a practitioner's house and saw him playing a DVD that showed the truth about Dafa to someone else. San went to the police station and reported it.

A police officer came and said, “What are you watching? Don't show it to anyone else!” The practitioner figured out that it must have been San who told the police, so he went to clarify the truth to him.

Even though San did not say anything out loud, he kept doing awful things behind the scenes. When he saw the banners practitioners had put up, he pulled them down.

When he found Dafa stickers on utility poles, he scraped or tore them off and report it to the police. When he saw elderly practitioners handing out truth-clarifying materials, he would grab the brochures and searched their bags.

He even led the police to arrest practitioners in their homes. He was involved in many such incidents.

Some practitioners said to me, “Don't hold out any hope for him. He can't be helped, and he doesn't deserve to be.”

Master Enlightened Me to Not Give Up on Him

I understood how they felt. In fact, San was also involved in persecuting my family.
He assisted the police and 610 Office personnel who raided my home. They stole the medicine from my clinic and took tens of thousands of yuan in cash, which was the capital we used to run the clinic and support our family.

They arrested my husband and sent him to the labor camp again. San was involved every step of the way.

For a while I was really disappointed in him and thought he might be the kind of person who could not be helped. But as a practitioner, I knew that I should do what Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, asked and not hate him. Instead, I should help him.

One day, San came to my home and said, “In the next few days, the county leaders are going to everyone's home to see if they are still practicing Falun Dafa. You should tell them to take down their pictures of your teacher or they will all be confiscated.”

“Aren’t you cooperating with the evil CCP to do something bad?” was my first thought. On second thought, I knew I had to hold myself to a practitioner's standard and not blame him. Instead, I had to help him by clarifying the truth.

I said, “We cannot take our teacher's pictures down. The practitioners in our village have all benefited from Dafa. Take me, for example. In the past, I had a bad temper and many ailments. After practicing Falun Dafa, I've been behaving myself according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and I'm healthy.

“Master Li Hongzhi saved my life. One should always respect their teacher as they respect their father. Who has the right to interfere when I worship in my own home? The Constitution protects freedom of belief.”

He responded, “If you don't take the pictures down, what if they see them?”

I said, “That's okay. I've always wanted to meet them. It's been hard to do so while the country is so uptight! It will be a good chance to let them know the truth.”

He suddenly changed his tone: “Who’s going to come? I've canceled them.”

After he left, I thought back on our conversation and realized it was actually he who had been stirring up trouble. No wonder other practitioners said he didn't deserve to be helped.

Just when I was going to give up on him, I had a dream. There was a big flood, and I ran out of the house and saw an ocean of water in front of me. San was the only person I saw, and he was swimming desperately. I told him to get out quickly while trying to pull him out. Then I woke up.

It was compassionate Master who told me not to give up on him.

San Finally Made the Right Choice

When I was studying the Fa, the following caught my eye:

“With the exception of a handful of evil ringleaders who are evil beings incarnate, we don’t regard anyone as a demon; it is that people have been ensnared by it, rather.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Fa Conference Marking the Tenth Anniversary of the Minghui Website’s Founding”)

I knew Master was enlightening me. I looked inward: I still had a selfish mentality of self-protection and that's why I had formed a notion about San.

Master said:

“As the Righteous Fa spreads,Untold fiends try to impede,Yet sentient beingsdo still gain salvation,And human notions change,The degenerate things purged,Brightness now shines forth.” (“Born Anew” in Hong Yin, English Translation Version A)

Master told us that all the human beings in this world, with the exception of a few top evil people in the CCP and those who’ve committed many evil acts yet refuse to repent, are lives waiting to be saved.

It is our responsibility not to give up on any life and not to mix personal feelings and notions into saving lives. We have to present people with the opportunity to make a choice. Then, it is up to each individual whether he or she wants to be helped. From then on, I looked for any opportunities to clarify the truth to San.

My parents are both in their 80s. Because they practice Falun Dafa, the village officials have seen to it that they do not receive the low-income subsistence allowance.

My father resented San on that account, but I persuaded him, “We are practitioners and should be compassionate to everyone. It may not be all up to him. I'll ask him what's going on and who made the decision when I get a chance.”

Once when I was clarifying the truth to him, he said, “Your parents’ pension is not up to me. You need to go to the county's Civil Affairs Bureau.” Soon after, he went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to see about it. After he came back he told me what happened.

The officials at the Civil Affairs Bureau told him, “Because the family practices Falun Dafa, we cannot approve it.”

He said, “If you can’t give me an official document, how can I explain it to them? I’ll have to tell them it is the Civil Affairs Bureau that turned down their application. If the daughter brings her mother here to your office tomorrow and leaves her, you are going to have a problem on your hands.”

That made them back off. “Ok, then, “ they said. “You can help them through the application process!”

My father passed away during that time, but San helped to get my mother and my husband the low-income subsistence allowance.

In 2019, I left the village and went to live in the city. Once when I ran into San, I showed him a Falun Dafa video and told him more about the practice.

I told him, “Master Li is being merciful to you, enlightening me and letting me help you. Although you've done many misdeeds under pressure, you have been directly involved in the persecution, which means you have committed crimes you have to make up for.”

That year, the city police arrested many practitioners. San was coming to the city on business and wanted to stop by my home. I said to him, “This is an unusual time; let me come to you.” Although I agreed to meet him, I was hesitant.

I thought, “What is he doing here now? Should I see him?”

Finally, I decided to go. I told another practitioner what I was going to do and asked her to send righteous thoughts for me. She reminded me, “You must be very careful, though, especially since he is visiting you at this particular time.”

When we met, I told San more facts about Dafa. He told me the reason for his trip to the city this time was to put his relatives on a train home.

He also told me that the county's state security division chief, in order to shirk his responsibility, wanted San to inform the local police that a Falun Dafa practitioner from his village was working in their territory, as that would save the county security office the trouble.

San said he did not agree and told the security chief, “If you do this, the local police will make trouble for him and he will not be able to work there, and he'll have to go somewhere else. If he moves, then what will you do?”

So San put an end to the security chief's idea. Hearing what he described, I encouraged and assured him, “You did the right thing!”

In the middle of May 2020, San called and said he was in the city on business and would like to visit my mother. He said, “Dafa is so good! You know, farming the paddy fields for someone at my age is very difficult, as I cannot compete with the young guys. But I remembered what you taught me: 'Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.' I recited those words in my mind every day. And guess what? I worked in the fields all those days and got the job done, just like those young guys.”

He said he also told the people he worked with, “There are Falun Dafa practitioners in our village, and I know the most about Falun Dafa. Those who practice it are good people.”

I further explained to him why he needed to quit the CCP. He then let me send a statement using his real name to quit.
