(Minghui.org) A 71-year-old Dalian City, Liaoning Province resident was taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison in July 2021, to serve a 3.5-year term for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The prison recently called Ms. Yu Yinghua’s family, saying that she is having dangerously high blood pressure. But details about her current situation aren’t clear.
Ms. Yu was arrested at home on July 10, 2019, and her home was ransacked. At the Yaojia Detention Center, her health deteriorated. She developed high blood pressure and often felt dizzy and nauseous. Even though her condition was no longer suited for prolonged detention, the authorities refused to release her.
The Lushunkou District Court sentenced Ms. Yu to 3.5 years with a 10,000 yuan fine in September 2020.
