Young Practitioner Sets Up Family-Based Materials Production Site During the Pandemic

(Minghui.org) I would like to share my experiences of setting up a family-based materials production site. After the pandemic outbreak, thanks to Master’s arrangement, I had more time to read the Fa. With my mother’s (fellow practitioner) encouragement, I gradually became diligent in my cultivation again.

Master said:

“That is why doing the three things well is cultivation, while doing only one of the three isn’t—that’s how it is, and you won’t be able to improve that way. So Dafa disciples must do them well.” (Teachings at the 2005 Conference in San Francisco)

When I read this, I asked my mother how I could clarify the truth through phone calls. She explained that in China phone calls were frequently blocked and monitored by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and that now most practitioners distributed informational materials. I recalled that in 2008, when I was still a student, I often went to the nearby park to distribute truth clarifying materials with my mother. I had no fear. The materials at that time were usually supplied by a practitioner from our Fa study group and they were mainly Minghui Weekly, or the QR code that helped people go to the truth clarifying website.

I initially got materials from another practitioner. However, that practitioner was very busy since he supplied materials to many other practitioners. I felt that I should not increase his burden so I thought of buying my own printer and producing materials myself.

Few households had printers. However, it was very common for an office worker to have a printer at home. The price of a small family-size printer is around a thousand to two thousand yuan. Office workers normally print documents, copy materials, or print photos at home. After my husband (non-practitioner) agreed, I bought a small printer. My mother also gave me a laptop which was set up to facilitate printing truth-clarifying materials.

Choosing Supplies

I use A4-sized paper, and coated paper for the printing. A4 paper is generally available at supermarkets so I can easily grab a pack while shopping for groceries. On the other hand, I had to go to the technology markets to buy the coated papers. I buy one pack every time. USB flash disks are available at small mobile phone shops so I buy 2 each time. I pay for all my supplies with cash. I try to buy them from different places and I also do not bring my mobile phone with me when I go shopping.

Maintaining the Printer

When I went to the technology market to buy the printer, the shop owner said that the printer comes with its own CD for installation so I could install it myself at home. However, he insisted on turning on the automatic Internet setting so that the printer could go online. I stopped him, said that it was fine and left.

I hope that fellow practitioners can take note, that when paper gets jammed in the printer, do not pull it out by force. I once tried pulling it out by force and damaged the printer. I had to take it to a repair shop. The shop owner said that the paper was jammed inside. I did not know if the jammed paper was from the Minghui Weekly I was printing at that time. I also thought that since I stopped printing halfway through, would the printer finish printing out the truth-clarifying material once it was turned on again. It would be risky to let non-practitioners repair the printer.

I decided I needed to send forth more righteous thoughts for the printer. Every time I finished using the equipment, I would clear away the records in the computer and print some normal content to make sure that there was no room for mistakes. I then switch off the power supply before pulling out the power source. In this way, the equipment would not be damaged so easily. I also refill the ink.

Producing Truth-clarifying Materials

After setting up my small materials production site, I finally understood the sacrifice that the materials production site practitioner made. Firstly, the printer that is used for a family-based materials production site is relatively slow, and very noisy. I chose to do the printing during the day. When I print, I turn off the wifi, lock the mobile phone in the car, and turn on the kitchen ventilator.

Folding the Minghui Weekly is also not easy. It takes a long time to carefully fold each copy. At the same time, the reviews will also need to be packaged properly in a bag along with the truth-clarifying QR code and an amulet.

Afterwards, I get rid of all the waste paper properly instead throwing it into the rubbish bin.

Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials

I can distribute more materials when I feel that my cultivation state is good and my thoughts are righteous. If I feel that my xinxing isn’t good, I stay home and read the Fa instead of hurrying out to distribute materials. I do not treat distributing materials as a routine task.

I send righteous thoughts each time before I go out. I send out the thought that these materials will truly save people. There are so many surveillance cameras everywhere so I try to avoid them. When I distribute the materials, I normally start from the top of the building and work my way downwards. I usually place the materials on top of the cabinets by the door. I sometimes also place them in the baskets of motor vehicles. I also found an inexpensive magnet that can be pasted on one side of the materials so they can be placed on metal doors. These magnets can be bought online, but may also be available at the technology market. I usually distribute materials after most people have gone to work. I do not distribute too many within a building and I do not enter or leave a small district too many times. After I finish distributing, I send forth righteous thoughts again so that the people who get the materials can be saved.

The first time I distributed the materials I was so terrified that I forgot where I parked my vehicle, and placed some on it. Later, through more Fa study, my fear gradually diminished. I remind myself that practitioners all have Master’s Fashen by their side. I also quietly recite, “I’m Li Hongzhi’s disciple, I don’t want other arrangements or acknowledge them.” (Teachings Given on Lantern Festival Day, 2003)

Of course, I feel that I should fit in with ordinary human society’s logic, so it would be wrong of me not to care about my safety. I once had a stomachache just before I went out to distribute materials. However, the ache disappeared after I finished the distribution.

Because I produce truth clarifying materials, I often visit Minghui.org, read Master’s latest Fa teachings, and read the editorial notices. I also read fellow practitioners cultivation articles so I can keep up with the progress of Fa rectification. I gradually eliminated my fear which helped me let more sentient beings understand the truth.

Master said:

“While in this world, a Dafa disciple is to do well in spiritually developing himself and fulfilling his historic mission of helping me to save people. The very reason that human society still exists today is so that Dafa may save people. It’s about time you woke up, isn’t it?!” (“A Strong and Urgent Warning”)

Once again, I feel the sense of mission.

My materials production site is small, but I remind myself of Master’s words:

“Don’t underestimate your sending even one flyer or one booklet to China, making one phone call there, or sending one fax there or sending all sorts of information—the effect is quite significant, and its effect in frightening and eliminating the evil is huge, truly huge.” (Teachings From a Tour of North America)

I’ve now gained confidence. I know I must cultivate myself well and save more sentient beings through my materials production site.
