How Cultivation of Speech Impacts Awakening People

(Minghui.org) A local practitioner was recently kidnapped and persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after police heard that she was producing truth clarification materials inside her home. The destruction of her materials production site resulted in a lack of truth-clarification materials in our area and adversely affected all of us.

After the persecution began in July 1999, one of the main things the CCP targeted were these small scale materials production sites. The Party has now installed surveillance cameras everywhere, so all practitioners must maintain righteous thoughts and pay attention to safety no matter where they are. Every practitioner should protect these materials production sites, because they are the source of our truth-clarification materials. This involves many practitioners’ efforts, including the Minghui website.

However, some practitioners do not cherish these materials production sites at all. Some casually visited the sites in groups. They carry the materials out in large bags. Some even brought their cell phones with them.

Other practitioners mentioned its location and even openly say which practitioners provided the materials. When they are reminded that they should not talk about it in public, they don’t take it seriously.

Some practitioners loudly refer to the practitioner who works at the materials production site, and disregard who may be listening. They don’t seem to care whether someone is carrying a cell phone (which can be used as a listening device) or who may be eavesdropping on their conversation. This way, the police can easily trace who works at the materials production site.

When some practitioners were kidnapped and pressured to tell where they got their materials, they told the police in order to protect themselves. They did not consider how much tribulation doing this would bring their fellow practitioners or how great the loss it would bring to the local area.

Master said,

“Why should you, a Dafa disciple, fear the evil ones when enduring persecution? The crux of the matter is that you have attachments. If not, do not endure passively, and face the evil people with righteous thoughts at all times. No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil’s demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won’t be this way.” (“Dafa Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts are Powerful,” Essentials for Further Advancement II)

Some practitioners keep other practitioners’ contact information with all their other contacts and put the contact book beside their home phone for their convenience. They ignored practitioners’ repeated reminders about safety. In this way, all practitioners’ contacts are available to everyone in their family. As a result, their family members who did not support Dafa called and harassed other practitioners.

Some of these practitioners were new to cultivation, but some have been practicing for more than 20 years.

Master said,

“I also want to tell you that your nature in the past was actually based on egotism and selfishness. From now on, whatever you do, you should consider others first, so as to attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism. So from now on, whatever you do or whatever you say, you must consider others—or even future generations—along with Dafa’s eternal stability.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature,” Essentials for Further Advancement)

After the practitioners who were arrested and questioned were released, they did not promptly tell the other practitioners that they gave the police their information. If they had, the exposed practitioners could be prepared and take steps to avoid the persecution. Instead, they hid what they did, which gave the police time to ransack the other practitioners’ homes.

Some practitioners whose information was given to police died as a result of being persecuted; some were in a terrible physical state after they were tortured. Still others gave up cultivation. Some continued to practice, but suffered significant financial losses.

The practitioners who did the inappropriate things mentioned above should understand that they committed the crime of persecuting their fellow practitioners. They should study the Fa seriously and look inward. They should think about why they did these things and what attachments caused them to do this.

I hope that all fellow practitioners will keep in mind Master’s teaching,

We should cultivate ourselves and become a being that lives for others. We should cultivate our speech.
