(Minghui.org) Ms. Yin Jun’s mother was dealt a heavy blow when her 39-year-old daughter was arrested again on June 18, 2020, for her faith in Falun Gong.

Because of upholding her faith, a peaceful spiritual practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999, Ms. Yin was expelled from college at the age of 19 and has been repeatedly arrested throughout the past two decades. She was given two labor camp terms and a prison term, for a total of 7.5 years. She developed severe heart problems in her early twenties, and her lower spine was deformed after suffering constant, intense torture during detention.

Ms. Yin, a native of Fusong County, Jilin Province, was residing in Changchun City in the same province, when she was arrested around 8 a.m. on June 18 by a group of officers who had been waiting outside her apartment building. The police ransacked her residence and confiscated her Falun Gong books, laptop, cellphone and other belongings.

After losing contact with Ms. Yin that day, her mother became very anxious and worried. It took her two days to find out that her daughter was arrested by officers from the Hongqijie Police Station and is currently detained in the Changchun City No.4 Detention Center.

The moment Ms. Yin’s mother confirmed her arrest, her blood pressure went up, her chest began to ache and she felt so weak that she almost collapsed.

Ms. Yin’s mother traveled from her home in Baicheng City to Changchun (about 165 miles away) to inquire about her case, only to be stonewalled by the officers at the entrance to the police station.

She then hired a lawyer to represent her daughter. Yet when she went with the lawyer to visit Ms. Yin in the detention center, both of them were not allowed to see Ms. Yin. The guards also refused to provide any information about Ms. Yin’s current health condition, worsening her mother's worry about her well-being and raising her suspicion that she might be subjected to abuse in custody.

The police again blocked the mother and lawyer from entering the police station when they tried once more to inquire about her case.

Ms. Yin’s mother later found out from an officer that Ms. Yin was arrested after the police spotted her distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.

Ms. Yin is now facing prosecution after the Chaoyang District Procuratorate approved her arrest.

Ms. Yin’s mother said, “My daughter lives by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance in her daily life. She is very sincere and kind. As she doesn't live with us, fearing that we would be implicated in the persecution, she often called me and chatted with me. Just recently, she bought me a new pair of rubber gloves, so as to protect my skin when I wash clothes by hand. On Father’s Day, she bought new clothes for her father. We as her parents are gratified to have such a kind daughter. How can the government be so cruel to detain such a nice person?”
