(Minghui.org) Twelve Falun Gong practitioners in Xiangfang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province were arrested over the course of two days in April 2020. Six of them are now facing prosecution for their faith, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The practitioners were arrested while making phone calls to the public about how the Chinese communist regime has been using similar tactics from the persecution of their faith to cover up the coronavirus epidemic. The arrests were ordered by Yang Bo, the head of Heilongjiang Province Domestic Security Division.
Two practitioners (names unknown) were released hours after they were arrested on April 8 due to their advanced age. Mr. Lang Baohua was released and put on house arrest around April 10, after he was found to have extremely high blood pressure.
The other nine practitioners were transferred to Daqing City, about 100 miles away, after their arrests. They include: Ms. Tang Zhuyin, Ms. Cai Xiuying, Mr. Zhu Mingdi, Ms. Li Yanqing, Ms. Jiao Qihua, Ms. Zhao Lihua, Mr. Huo Xiaohui, Ms. Ding Yan, and Mr. Li Lizhuang. Most of them had their homes ransacked, and their Falun Gong books, computers, tablets, cellphones, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, and some of their private vehicles, were confiscated.
Using the coronavirus epidemic as an excuse, the police refused to disclose the practitioners’ detention locations to their families, precluding any visitation or allowing their families to send in money or clothes.
It’s recently confirmed by Minghui.org that Mr. Li is currently held at Zhaozhou Detention Center; and Ms. Tang, Ms. Li, Ms. Ding, Ms. Jiao and Ms. Zhao are detained at the Daqing City No. 2 Detention Center. All six have had their arrests approved and their cases submitted to the Ranghulu District Procuratorate.
The case status of Ms. Cai, Mr. Huo and Mr. Zhu remain to be investigated.
