(Minghui.org) I met a Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) practitioner in 1993 who told me about her miraculous recovery from paralysis. “Before I attended Master Li Hongzhi's (the founder) lecture series in Anhui Province,” she said, “I had been bedridden for several years.
“As soon as I understood that Falun Gong was a spiritual practice that followed the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Master Li began to cleanse my body.”
She told me: “During one lecture, Master Li asked all attendees to stand up and stomp their feet on the floor. I stood straight up and followed along with the others. I was so excited that I was no longer paralyzed that I broke down in tears!”
Although she was originally carried into the lecture hall--because she was unable to walk--she miraculously walked home by herself! When she climbed to the fourth floor of her apartment building, her family members were amazed and became very emotional. They realized that Falun Gong had given her a second life.
Listening to her amazing story, I decided to learn Falun Gong and attend Master's upcoming lecture in Hefei City in April 1994. By the end of that year, I had managed to attend six of Master Li’s lecture series, which I will discuss below.
Master's Lecture Series in Hefei City, Anhui Province
I paid a 20-yuan (US $2.80) registration fee to attend the lecture series in April 1994. I was given a Falun Dafa student ID card, which had a Falun emblem stamped on it, and Master Li’s stamp.
The staff member who registered me said. “The registration fee is used to cover the cost of renting this venue. I know many qigong masters who charge a minimum of 200 yuan (US $28.00) for a single two-hour seminar!”
He continued: “Master Li requires that Falun Gong be taught on a strictly voluntary basis. Your registration fee allows you to attend Master's nine-day lecture series and a one-day question and answer session.”
On April 15, 1994, all of the attendees respectfully listened to Master's lecture. I felt the deep compassion, solemnity, and sacredness of Falun Dafa!
As soon as the attendees began following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their actions, they all noticed that their heart and mind nature had greatly improved. Some people offered their seats to others, as there was limited seating available. I looked around and noticed how peaceful and kind everyone looked.
Master Li encouraged us to practice diligently. He cleaned the attendees' bodies and opened their celestial eyes. When my celestial eye opened, I saw colorful, transparent, rotating Falun.
Some people saw the spinning Falun; some saw Master Li’s solemn, golden, Dharma body; others saw a vast landscape behind Master, replete with pavilions and towers, in other dimensions. I felt a pure, peaceful, and strong energy field.
Master removed karma and all sorts of illnesses from the bodies of those who came to truly practice Falun Gong.
Although I felt weak and sick before attending the lecture, I felt light and illness-free during the lecture! Master also asked us to stretch out our arms and see if we could feel the rotating Falun spinning in our palms.
One day, after practicing the Falun Gong exercises, I went home, laid down on my bed, then suddenly began to levitate!
During one lecture, I saw a paralyzed woman being carried into the hall on a stretcher. The woman told Master: “I want to practice Falun Gong exclusively. Please save me!”
Master kindly instructed her, “Stand up.” At first, she didn't enlighten and remained prone on the stretcher. A man next to her said, “Master told you to stand up. Get up quickly!”
The woman immediately stood up, then walked around the stage. She then began to weep tears of joy. “Look at me. I can stand up!” she exclaimed to the four or five thousand attendees. “Master just gave me a second life. Thank you, Master!”
Everyone in attendance was moved to tears by Master's compassion and warmly applauded for a long time.
At the end of the lecture series, I looked at our great and compassionate Master and thought, “I must genuinely practice Dafa and reach consummation!”
I later approached Master and asked, “What is a 'hollow fist'?” Master patiently answered my question. Everyone was very happy standing next to Master and asked him many questions.
“Can I shake your hand?” I asked Master. He stretched out his powerful arm and shook my hand. Some students asked Master to sign the book Falun Gong. Master patiently signed each copy that was presented to him, then took a group photo.
Master's Lecture in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province
My husband, daughter, mother-in-law, and I attended Master's lecture series in Zhengzhou City on June 11, 1994. It was held in a rather large stadium.
Shortly after the lecture began, we heard violent wind slamming against the windows of the stadium.
Master looked around, then asked someone to close the windows and continued teaching.
Moments later, we experienced a power outage. Master paused, looked around, then the power was restored, allowing Master to continue lecturing. Within minutes, the lights dimmed, then went off completely.
Then hail, the size of eggs, pelted the roof and windows around us. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew in a window that was slightly ajar, bringing with it some hail. One piece of hail hit my mother-in-law, who was seated near the window.
Some people sensed the presence of an evil being in the stadium and feared that the roof could collapse at any moment. When I looked around, I saw many people quickly moving away from the windows, anxious for their lives.
Meanwhile, several practitioners and I began doing the sitting meditation on the floor. Shortly after, everyone around us gradually started to settle down. When I heard people applauding, I opened my eyes. The hailstorm had ended and sunshine began to stream through the windows!
Master said that a demon once blew out an oil lamp while Buddha Shakyamuni was teaching his disciples. He noted that the truly genuine cultivators remained unmoved and quietly listened to Shakyamuni until someone re-lit the lamp.
Master then snatched something from the air, turned around, placed it inside an empty water bottle, then tightened the cap. Suddenly, the lights turned on and people began sitting down in their seats. Then, Master sat on a table and did the grand hand gestures before continuing his lecture.
“Falun Gong is awesome!” a staff member said before one of Master's lectures. “It teaches people how to behave according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and to be a good person. Your Master is great!
“The class is going to start soon, but Master hasn't had time to eat lunch. He's been busy helping us repair and adjust the audio and visual equipment.
“Master doesn’t care about fame and personal interest. He truly is a really great teacher. Falun Gong is good!”
At the end of the lecture series, practitioners presented flowers and banners to Master. He told everyone to diligently practice, then took group photos with the attendees from different areas.
Master's Lecture in Jinan City, Shandong Province
By now, I knew that Falun Gong was a high-level spiritual practice. Thus, I attended Master's lecture series in Jinan City June 21-28, 1994. The stadium was packed, with more than 4,000 people in attendance.
One day, I laid on my bed and saw many Falun spinning above me. Suddenly, one Falun flew towards me and hit my teeth. Since then, my teeth have been in very good shape.
At the end of the lecture series, Master took a group photo with practitioners from Anhui Province.
Fa Lecture in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province
I next attended Master’s lecture in Harbin City on August 5, 1994. I improved my heart nature by looking within and following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in my actions. I also felt the Falun spinning in my lower abdomen, non-stop.
When the lecture concluded, Master took group photos with all of the practitioners present.
Lecture Series in Yanji City, Liaoning Province
I traveled from Harbin City to Yanji City to attend Master's lecture series held from August 20-27, 1994. Whenever I experienced some signs of illness karma, I thought, “I'm a Falun Gong practitioner. Master is always protecting me. I'm happily eliminating karma and elevating my realm!”
Master's Lecture in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
When I returned home from Yanji City, I advised many people to attend Master's upcoming lecture series in Guangzhou City, starting on December 21, 1994. Although my monthly salary was 15-30 yuan (USD $2.00-$4.00), I decided to go to Guangzhou City to attend Master’s final lecture series in China.
I bought 30 steamed buns, three for each day. I also borrowed some money so that I could stay at a hotel near the venue.
There were so many attendees that one auditorium could not hold us all. Many people were unable to secure a seat. I gave my ticket away to a Falun Gong Association staffer and asked him to give it to someone who needed it.
I planned to listen to Master’s lectures outdoors, but another auditorium suddenly became available! Master came to visit us during intermission.
I later heard a touching story about a new Falun Gong student from a poor rural area. Since he didn't have enough money to buy food, he only drank water and slept in a train station at night.
Fellow practitioners found him and told him that Master asked them to help him and to tell him that his wife, who was paralyzed, had fully recovered.
When he arrived home after the lecture, his wife excitedly exclaimed, “I want to learn Falun Gong! It teaches people how to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” But she still could not move.
Two days later, his wife saw Falun in various colors flying around their home. Some Falun landed on her body, making her feel warm all over. A few moments later, she stood up and walked around the room.
Many people in his area realized that Falun Gong is truly miraculous and wanted to take up the practice, too!
