(Minghui.org) Four Wuhan City, Hubei Province residents were recently sentenced to prison for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Zhang Bing was sentenced to six years with a 6,000 yuan fine.Mr. Xiong Liangzheng was sentenced to five years with a 5,000 yuan fine.Ms. Zhang Hong was sentenced to three years with a 4,000 yuan fine.Ms. Zhou Xiaofen was sentenced to two years and nine months with a 3,000 yuan fine.

The four practitioners were arrested on April 23, 2018 while talking to people about Falun Gong. The police had monitored them for months before executing the arrests. The practitioners’ homes were ransacked and their computers, printers, DVDs burners and blank discs were confiscated.

Ms. Zhang Hong and Mr. Xiong, in his late 70s, were released on bail due to their health conditions. Ms. Zhang Bing, in her 60s, and Ms. Zhou were taken to the Wuhan City No.1 Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Bing experienced dangerously high blood pressure in the detention center. She requested release on bail for medical treatment. The police and prosecutor responded that she must write a statement to renounce Falun Gong before they could release her. She refused to comply.

When Ms. Zhang Bing’s lawyer came to visit her at the detention center, a guard asked her to meet with the male lawyer naked, in order to humiliate her. Ms. Zhang refused to comply. The guard eventually relented, but only allowed her to have a thin layer of clothes on, even though it was cold in the meeting room.

The four practitioners were tried and sentenced by the Hanyang District Court on November 5, 2020.
