(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa in 2009. I have benefited greatly even though I have only cultivated for a few years. I was almost blind before I started the practice, but now my vision has improved.
Deciding to Practice Falun Dafa
When I was often sick or too busy to handle my family business in 2009, Ms. Wang helped me. She was very nice, diligent, and knowledgeable. I was very happy to chat with her. She often talked about life.
I told Ms. Wang that I could sometimes see people inside stones. I had told my family about it, but they thought something was wrong with my eyes. She told me that there were indeed people inside stones.
I asked her how she knew that, and she said that she learned it from the book Zhuan Falun. I asked her if Zhuan Falun had anything to do with Falun Gong.
Ms. Wang then clarified the truth to me. I asked her to read Zhuan Falun to me in the afternoon. It took several days for her to finish reading the book. I was not able to see the characters, but I saw a bright wheel. I learned later that it was a Falun. I decided to study the Falun Dafa book.
After practicing Falun Dafa, I could walk with ease. I no longer felt tired when I worked, nor did I feel any pain. I felt so happy and full of energy. I shared my experience with my relatives and friends. They tried to stop me from practicing Falun Dafa because they were worried my children would have difficulties getting into good schools or colleges or getting a good job. They all knew that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was evil. But Dafa was so great—how could I not practice it? I took their worries into consideration. If I were to be persecuted, what would I do?
“You are almost blind. You need to decide what you should worry about,” a voice said.
The next day I asked Ms. Wang about what I'd heard. She said she thought it was Master Li, the founder of Dafa, giving me a hint. I decided to practice Dafa without reservation. After that, no one opposed my practicing Dafa. They only asked me to be careful.
I was unable to read Zhuan Falun, but I could watch and listen to Master Li’s video and audio lectures. I did not know many Dafa practitioners. One day, I went to another practitioner’s home to study the Fa and found out that practitioners are to help Master clarify the truth about Falun Dafa. I then started to tell my relatives and friends the facts. They all agreed to quit the CCP and its youth organizations.
Encouraged to Cultivate in Dafa
I knew very few practitioners, so I asked Master about finding practitioners near me. We formed a group to study the teachings together, and I went to it every day. They read and I listened. Sometimes, they asked if I understood it clearly. They would test me when I said I did. They were so great and I was touched. Only Dafa practitioners have such compassion and patience.
Some practitioners wanted to distribute Dafa materials and asked whether I would like to help. I hesitated, not wanting to trouble them because I could not see well. But they encouraged me to go with them. They found a place for me where I could send righteous thoughts. If the area was well lit, they would ask me to hand out materials.
I understood that only through cultivation can one achieve such a demeanor. I was encouraged to cultivate Dafa diligently.
My vision improved and I was able to read Zhuan Falun. I went out with fellow practitioners to clarify the truth. I sometimes went to distribute the materials at night. It was dark but I knew Master was beside me. When I completed one building, I was so delighted.
I also distributed copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party with other practitioners. It was a process for me to cultivate.
One day when I went to give out informational materials with other practitioners, I saw an elderly man mowing the lawn. I handed him a copy of the Nine Commentaries and a Shen Yun performance DVD. He did not have a DVD player and refused to take anything. As I was leaving, I said to myself, “It is so hard to save people.” He heard me and agreed to accept everything.
