Additional Persecution News from China – June 18, 2018 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 2 were illegally arrested.

1. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wang Ying and Ms. Wang Hongling: Cases Filed with Procuratorate

Mr. Wang Ying and Ms. Wang Hongling were arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials by officers from the Qingshan District Police Department. They were held at the Qingshan District Detention Center for more than a hundred days. Their cases were filed with the Procuratorate. Ms. Wang is being held at the Baotou City Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Baoling Detained

Ms. Zhang Baoling was arrested at home by four officers from the Yangqiao Police Station in the Fengtai District on the evening of April 12, 2018. The officers ransacked her home, but found nothing. Ms. Zhang has been held at the Fengtai Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang appealed for the right to practice Falun Gong on Tiananmen Square on April 23, 1999, and afterwards was harassed by officers from the Dahongmen Police Station. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. On July 21, 2008, she was subjected to two years of forced labor just before the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In September, 2017, she was detained for ten days, and police confiscated Falun Gong books from her home.

3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Gao Jian and Ms. Li Xiuzhi Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Gao Jian, Ms. Li Xiuzhi, and Mr. He Zhirong were arrested on April 7, 2017 when they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Jingan Town, Changli County. Mr. He was released the same day. Mr. Gao was taken to the Changli County Detention Center seven days later.

On February 2018, the Changli County Court sentenced Mr. Gao to three years and four months in prison, and Ms. Li to three years in prison. Mr. Gao was taken to the Jidong Prison on April 4, 2018.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Donglian Formally Arrested

Ms. Li Donglian was arrested on April 10, 2018 by officers from the Zhongbei Police Station in Xiqing District. She has been held at the Hongqiao District Detention Center for more than two months. She was formally arrested recently.

6. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Guichun Detained

Ms. Dong Guichun of Kuanbang Town was arrested by officers from the Suizhong County Domestic Security Division after being reported by agents from the inspection team. She has been held at the Huludao Detention Center. Her cell phone was confiscated.
