(Minghui.org) Several Falun Gong practitioners in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, were harassed in their homes in November 2016, because they sued Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Officials from the Jiangyang, Phoenix, and Baizhaopai districts went to the practitioners’ homes or called and questioned them about their lawsuits.

The practitioners reminded the officials that suing Jiang was their constitutional right and also told them the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution.

Legal Lawsuit Labeled a “False Accusation”

When government officials went to one of the practitioners’ home, they asked her whether she still practiced Falun Gong.

She replied, “Of course! Why not? I used to suffer from many ailments that no doctors could cure. I regained my health by practicing Falun Gong.”

The officials wanted to know if she had ever filed a lawsuit against anyone.

“Are you talking about suing Jiang Zemin?” she asked. “I already did, and I signed my real name and used my real home address.”

When one of the officials took out a form for her to sign, she saw that it was headed “False Accusation.” She said, “I won’t sign this, because I am not making a false accusation. I am cultivating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and I am a good person. Jiang Zemin persecutes good people, and many Falun Gong practitioners have died because of this persecution. I sued Jiang in accordance with the law. How can that be considered a ‘false accusation?’”

The officials knew they had no legal grounds to charge her with anything but asked her if she would sign the document anyway. She firmly refused.

Family Member Says: “Falun Gong Is Good!”

The same government officials went to another practitioner’s home on November 14 and questioned her about suing Jiang. She told them she wouldn’t sign their forms, because she had the right, guaranteed by law, to sue.

This practitioner was in her 70s and had been jailed for a year and a half for going to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She had also been fined 30,000 yuan. Many people from the local CCP and the 610 Office had come to her house to collect the fine. Since she was very poor, they confiscated two pigs and eight chickens instead.

Her husband told the officials that his wife had regained her ability to work since she started to practice Falun Gong. He said she was a good person but had been jailed for a year and a half just for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. “Falun Gong is good,” he said.

Chinese Officials Are Also Victims of the Persecution

Another practitioner got a call from a community official, who questioned her about suing Jiang. She told the official that it was the responsibility of the Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court to handle the lawsuits against Jiang. The official said he had no choice, since his superiors had issued the order and were pressuring him.

A man from the local government called another practitioner and said, “Do not practice Falun Gong. I have prepared the Guarantee Statement for you. Come to my office and sign it.”

Government officials pressured others to give up their belief in Falun Gong but to no avail.

All of the officials involved, regardless of their positions, are acting illegally when they interfere with practitioners who have filed lawsuits against Jiang. They are the true victims of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong.
