Jinyun, Zhejiang Province: More Than 90 Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin, 10 Still in Detention
(Minghui.org) Police in Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province have launched two rounds of unlawful mass arrests of Falun Gong practitioners who filed lawsuits against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin.
More than 80 practitioners were arrested in the early morning hours of November 11, 2015, and at least 10 practitioners were rounded up on March 22, 2016.
To date, ten are still in detention.
Ms. Dou Caijuan, Mr. Zhao Yongyue and Mr. Lou Gui’an have been under criminal detention at the Jinyun County Detention Center since their arrest last November.
Ms. Dou has become disabled as a result of abuse in custody. Even so, she was put on trial on April 15, 2016.
Shen Jianhua, Xie Zhaowang, Zhou Xiaozhen, Shen Meizhen, Li Huairen, Qiu Ye, and Mei Hua have been under administrative detention at the Jinyun County Lockup since their arrest this March.
Mr. Fan Zhongzhuang, who has been released, explained why he and other practitioners must seek justice against Jiang.
“All Chinese People Should Sue Jiang Zemin”
Mr. Fan suffered from advanced intestinal cancer, and doctors said he had only three years to live if he were lucky. However, he recovered completely after he took up the practice of Falun Gong.
“Falun Gong enables people to improve their health and morality; it brings people and the society numerous benefits with no harm,” Mr. Fan said after his amazing recovery.
“Jiang Zemin, out of jealousy and fear of losing his power, cooked up lies and false accusations against Falun Gong. Millions of practitioners have lost their lives as a result of persecution, including organ harvesting. Jiang Zemin deprived citizens of freedom of belief and went against China’s Constitution. All Chinese people should sue him,” Mr. Fan said.
He has been illegally arrested a number of times during the persecution for refusing to give up his belief in Falun Gong, and suffered brutal beatings and torture at the hands of police. During an interrogation in 2005, Mr. Fan sustained severe injuries that led to disability.
“I want Jiang Zemin to be brought to justice and Falun Gong’s reputation restored. People should enjoy the freedom of belief. My wife and I have both filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate. Justice will prevail in the end,” said Mr. Fan.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
