(Minghui.org) As more and more Falun Gong practitioners sue Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of their spiritual belief, local police from different parts of China have stepped up their efforts to investigate and even arrest plaintiffs for filing lawsuits against the former Chinese dictator.

According to the latest reports compiled by Minghui, over 80 residents in Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province, were arrested in one day for filing lawsuits against Jiang. More than 1,000 miles to the north, a farmer in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province, was also arrested.

Over 80 Jinyun County residents were seized and had their homes ransacked on November 11 for exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin.

The practitioners are charging the former Chinese dictator with initiating the brutal suppression of Falun Gong and hold him responsible for the tremendous suffering inflicted upon them by his campaign. Their criminal complaints were mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.

Mr. Zhao Yongyue of Huzhen Town is being detained in Jinyun County Detention Center.

Thirty-five of the practitioners are being held in the Jinyun County detention facililty, including Lou Weili (楼伟丽), Lou Guian (楼桂安), Shen Tuxiang (沈土相), Li Meiqun (李美群), Lu Hongzhen (卢洪震), Wu Julan (吴桔兰), Ying Tangde (应唐德), Mei Yuping (梅玉萍), Cao Caifang (曹彩芳), Lu Xuefen (吕雪芬), Zhu Shuyuan (朱淑媛), Zhou Jianhong (周建红), Jin Ru (锦茹), Mei Fang (梅芳), Ding Wan (鼎婉), Zhou Limin (周立敏), and Mei Juan (美娟).

Mr. Cheng Guanghui (程光辉) of Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province was also arrested on November 11 for filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. This is his 12th arrest in the past 16 years.

He has been taken to detention centers, brainwashing centers, and forced labor camps multiple times. He was sent to a forced labor camp in 2006 for two years and subjected to the death bed torture for 23 days. He was seriously injured and could not walk for three months.

His wife Ms. Zheng Lihua and their two daughters were sent to the now defunct Masanjia Forced Labor Camp back in 2001. The younger daughter was only 17 and her sister 19 at the time. The younger sister was later sentenced to 7 years.

The family's home was ransacked many times and their personal belongings confiscated. His mother, in her 80s, lived in fear. They had no source of income because of the relentless persecution. Mr. Cheng's son barely managed to complete his studies with the help of relatives.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners during the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
