(Minghui.org) A woman from Guangdong province filed a second lawsuit against former dictator Jiang Zemin in February 2016, following her daughter's fourth arrest for practicing Falun Gong.
The mother mailed out her first criminal complaint last July, holding Jiang responsible for launching the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in repeated arrests of her and two of her six daughters.
Daughter Assaulted during Arrest, Now Faces Trial
Ms. Qiu Xiuping's daughter, Ms. Zhang Xiaoling, was arrested on December 8, 2015 for telling people about Falun Gong and the persecution. She was brutally beaten during the arrest and is awaiting trial, to be held on March 25, 2016.
This was Ms. Zhang's fourth arrest. She was arrested twice in 2000 for appealing for Falun Gong. After her third arrest in August, 2011 in Guangzhou, she was given two years of forced labor. She served her term in the Chatou Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou and suffered brutal torture there.
Mother and Youngest Daughter Repeatedly Arrested
Ms. Qiu, a resident of Shantou City, Guangdong, had been arrested several times for not giving up her belief. Local police often came to her home to harass her and monitored her closely between 2000 and 2011.
Her youngest daughter, Ms. Zhang Yueqi, was arrested along with her sister, Ms. Zhang Xiaoling, in 2011. She was also given a year of forced labor despite the fact that she was a minor.
Mother Determined to Bring Jiang to Justice
Ms. Zhang Xiaoling and Ms. Qiu had each submitted their own criminal complaints against Jang Zemin in July 2015 to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and Supreme People's Court for their family's suffering.
With Ms. Zhang in custody again, Ms. Qiu is determined to bring Jiang to justice and has filed her second lawsuit with updated information about her daughter.

Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
