Additional Persecution News from China – March 2, 2016 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Xing'an Detained

Mr. Liu Xing'an was arrested on February 27, 2016. He is held in the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.

2. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Xiuling Arrested

Director of the security office in Puwan Village, Fushan District, broke the lock and entered the storage compartment in Ms. Yu Xiuling's home on the evening of February 25, 2016. After being spotted by Ms. Yu, the director called the police to frame her. The police came and ransacked Ms. Yu's home. They confiscated a cell phone, a computer, and an ID card. Ms. Yu was taken to a detention center. She was brought home after she failed the physical exam. The police extorted 10,000 yuan from her family in exchange for her bailout.

3. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Yue Arrested

Several officers from the Tiedong Police Station broke into Ms. Yang Yue's home and arrested her at noon on March 1, 2016.

4. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Gong Liping Arrested

Ms. Gong Liping, from Rujia Village, Shennong Town, the Weibin District, was arrested at work by officers from the Weibin District Domestic Security Division on February 26, 2016. The officers went to her home for videotaping. It was reported that Ms. Gong was held in the Lingyun Hotel.

Mr. Li Peng from Jujia Village was also held in the hotel.

5. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Yuan Arrested

Practitioner Yuan was arrested when distributing Falun Gong informational materials on February 28, 2016.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Zhou Xiulan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhou Xiulan from the Haidian District was reported to the police when she was hanging Falun Gong informational banners in March 2015. She was arrested. She was sentenced to four years in prison by the Haidian District Court.

7. [Laiyang City Shandong Province] Ms. Qiao Xinyu Arrested

Officers from the Laiyang Police Department and the Bailinzhuang Police Station broke into the homes of Ms. Qiao Xinyu and Ms. Yu Shuyuan on February 23, 2016. Ms. Qiao was arrested. She is held in the Laiyang Detention Center. Ms. Yu was not at home. The officers returned to her home the following day, but failed to arrest her.

Police officers went to Ms. Xu Meiling's home in Beixiaoping Village in Bailinzhuang Town on the morning of February 23, 2016. Ms. Xu was not at home. They went to her home again the following day to arrest her, but failed as well.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Anxiu Detained

Ms. Li Anxiu was arrested when telling people about Falun Gong on February 26, 2016. Afterward seven or eight officers from the Shimen Police Station ransacked her home. They confiscated Falun Gong books and DVDs with Falun Gong information. Ms. Li is held in the Fusheng Detention Center in the Jiangbei District.

9. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Detained

Ms. Guo Xiurong, Ms. Zhang Liping, Mr. Lu Wenfan, Ms. Liu Shuqin and Ms. Liu Xiumei, from Yong'an Town, were reported to the police when they were telling people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Jidong County Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, and the Yong'an Police Station at noon on February 29, 2016. The five practitioners were taken to the Jidong Police Department. Their families were told that the five practitioners were taken to the Jixi Detention Center for seven days of detention.

10. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gong Xiuying Detained

Ms. Gong Xiuying, 73, was arrested by officers from the Shizhong District Domestic Security Division and the West Renmin Road Police Station on February 24, 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. Ms. Gong is held in the Guihualou Detention Center in the Shizhong District.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Xin'an Detained

Elderly Ms. Liu Xin'an was arrested by officers from the Nanhu Police Station in the Hongshan District when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of February 27, 2016. She is held in the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.

12. [Qihe County, Shandong Province] Ms. Huang Yuping and Mr. Wei Lesheng Detained

Ms. Huang Yuping and Mr. Wei Lesheng were arrested by officers from the Chengqu Police Station when distributing Falun Gong informational materials on February 29, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Dezhou Detention Center on March 1, 2016 for 15 days of detention.

13. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Hongyan Arrested

Ms. Yang Hongyan was arrested by officers waiting near her home on the morning of March 1, 2016. The officers are from the Tiedong Police Station. Ms. Yang has not returned home yet. Her child, who is only four or five years old, has been left at home alone unattended.

14. [Beijing] Ms. Cui Xuelei Detained

Ms. Cui Xuelei is being held in the Xicheng District Detention Center.

15. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chonghui and Ms. Wang Xiuying Sentenced to Prison

On February 25, 2016 the Shuangtaizi Court sentenced Mr. Han Chonghui to three and a half years in prison and Ms. Wang Xiuying to three years. Both practitioners have appealed.

16. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Jinhua Arrested

Mr. Wang Jinhua was arrested by police officers from the Pingyuan County Train Station on the afternoon of February 28, 2016. The officers body searched him. They confiscated two sound players, three copies of Zhuan Falun, and 10 pieces of paper money which had Falun Gong information. About eight officers ransacked his home that evening and confiscated 10 desk calendars, 6 wall calendars, one photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and 14 DVDs.

Li Feng, from the 610 Office, and two other officers from the Longmen Police Station who came in the vehicle that Li drove, took Mr. Wang to the police station for interrogation. Mr. Wang's daughter brought him home that evening. The police confiscated his ID card, household registration book, retirement card, bank deposit receipt, two bank cards, and his cell phone.

17. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Chen Mingfang's Home Ransacked

Seventy-six-year-old Ms. Chen Mingfang's home was ransacked by officers from the Chaoming Police Station on March 1, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. The officers confiscated a computer, flash drives, and Falun Gong informational materials.

18. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yao Weimao, from Dashipengzi Village, Shiren Town, Jiangyuan County, was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Hunjiang District Court on January 7, 2016.

Ms. Jiao Fengzhen and Ms. Li Guirong were each sentenced to three years in prison by the court on January 7, 2016. They were taken to the Jilin Province Women's Prison.
