Additional Persecution News from China – October 17, 2016 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 24 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wang Guoliang Facing Trial

Mr. Wang Guoliang was arrested in October 2015 by officers from Urad Middle Banner. He was held at Wuyuan County Detention Center, and beaten by guards. He will be tried on the afternoon of October 17, 2016.

2. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] At Least 15 Practitioners Arrested in Three Days

Six police officers from Fate Town Police Station broke into Ms. Zhao Yanhua's home to arrest her on the evening of October 13, 2016. Ms. Zhao managed to flee home by escaping through the backyard with her family's help. Her husband held a knife to block the officers and her son-in-law took a video using his cell phone. They were arrested and taken to the police station, but were released later.

Another practitioner, whose family name is Gao, was arrested at work on the morning of October 13, 2016, but released that afternoon. Police searched the practitioner's home.

Many practitioners were arrested between October 12 and 14.

It was learned that seven of them are being held at Jilin City Women's Detention Center. They are Ms. Chen Yuxia, Ms. Xi Yahong, Ms. Wang Pengying, Ms. Wang Yuqin, Ms. Wang Yuzhen, Ms. Tai Lijuan, and Ms. Niu Yuhui.

Ms. Zhang Yunying, Ms. Jiang Zaifeng, Ms. Hong Mei, and Mr. Jiang Yuejun are held at the Nanshan Detention Center.

Mr. Yu Hongfu and Mr. Xu Shikun are held in Nanshan Jail.

3. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested, One Still in Detention

Ms. Gao Wanhua, Ms. Huang Shuqin, and Ms. Cao Yumei were arrested on August 8, 2016. Ms. Cao was released. Several bones in Ms. Huang's feet were broken during arrest. She launched a hunger strike and was released on September 23. Ms. Gao is still held in custody.

4. [Guangan city, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Ming and Mr. Tan Haisheng Arrested

Some practitioners from Guangan City were tracked, monitored, and harassed. Mr. Zhang Ming and Mr. Tan Haisheng were arrested on the evening of October 15, 2016 by officers from the Domestic Security Division and police stations. They were released on the afternoon of October 16.

5. [Guangan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Tianrong Detained

Mr. Li Tianrong were arrested for distributing Falun Gong fliers on the afternoon of October 6, 2016 by officers from the Chengbei Police Station. He was first held at the police station, and taken to the State Security Bureau the next day. He is currently being held at Zaoshan.

6. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Mr. Liao Jianfu, age 62, was arrested in Chengdu City in October 2016. His wife, Ms. Shi Dexian was arrested later in Huaping County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. More than twelve officers from Panzhihua City broke into Ms. Shi's home and ransacked it on the afternoon of October 13. Ms. Song Nanyu, age 67, and Mr. Fu Wende, age 68, a former guard at the Dongqu Detention Center, were arrested. Ms. Song's home was searched by police.

7. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Qiuchang and Ms. Zhong Yi Arrested

Ms. Liang Qiuchang and Ms. Zhong Yi were arrested on the morning of October 16, 2016 by officers from the Liyue Neighborhood Police Station. The officers confiscated Ms. Liang's computer, Falun Gong books, and other items.

8. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Two female practitioners, who have the same family names Wang, were arrested for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of October 12, 2016. They were taken to the Zhuozhou Police Department. That same afternoon, Ms. Zheng Liping, a retiree from the Zhuozhou City Aluminum Plant, was arrested for the same reason by officers from the Taoyuan Police Station.

9. [Raoyang County, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Two Raoyang County practitioners were arrested by Yang Guangke, secretary of the Raoyang County Political and Legal Affair Committee, He Guangming, captain of Domestic Security Division, Cui Jindian, vice captain, and others. The practitioners were taken to the Hengshui Police Station at 11 p.m..

10. [Qingfeng County, Henan Province] Two Practitioners Persecuted

Ms. Fang Aixiang, age 64, is a retiree from a casting workshop at the Qingfeng County Agricultural Machinery Repair Plant. She has been detained in the Puyang City Detention Center since October 10, 2016. Her home was searched by officers from the Qingfeng County Domestic Security Division.

Ms. Zhang Guizhen, age 63, is a retiree from the Qingfeng County Cotton Mill. Officers from the Qingfeng County Domestic Security Division broke into her home and attempted to arrest her on October 10, 2016. She happened to be out. She has to stay away from home to avoid being arrested.

11. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Dang Ronghua Arrested

Ms. Dang Ronghua was arrested at home on October 16, 2016 by officers from the Domestic Security Division and 610 Office agents.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Fu Shengqiang Detained

Huangpi District practitioner Mr. Fu Shengqiang, 34, was arrested on October 7, 2016 by officers from the Mulan Township Police Station. He is held at Bali Detention Center.

13. [Yingshan County, Hubei Province] Mr. She Yunlai Has Been Missing for Sixteen Years

Mr. She Yunlai of Dongming Village, Leidian Town appealed for the right to practice Falun Gong in Beijing in 2000. He was last seen working at home in September 2000. He has been missing ever since.

14. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ren Guozhuang Arrested

Mr. Ren Guozhuang was arrested on October 15, 2016 by officers from the Lianhe Township Police Station.

15. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Wu Yuping, Ms. Wang Ying, and Ms. Sun Yuelan were tried by the Yinzhou District Court on September 22, 2016. They were sentenced on October 12. Ms. Wu was sentenced to three-and-a-half-years and fined 5,000 yuan; Ms. Wang to three-years-and-four-months and a 4,000 yuan fine; Ms. Sun to three-years and fined 3,000 yuan.

16. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Jing Cuizhen, Ms. Liu Jing, and Mr. He Tao were sentenced to five years, three years, and five years respectively in September 2016 by the Taihe District Court.

Ms. Jing and Ms. Liu were arrested at Ms. Jing's home on May 10, 2016. Ms. He was arrested on May 18, 2016 when she was distributing Falun Gong materials.

17. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qi Xiaoyou Detained

Mr. Qi Xiaoyou was arrested on October 10, 2016 by officers from the Wulong Police Station. He is held at the Xindi Detention Center. His father, Mr. Qi Yufu is held in Kangjiashan Prison in Shenyang City.
